Cliniko is a cloud based practice management application that is used in larger practices with multiple physicians. Zoom is a cloud based practice management application that is used in smaller practices with one or two physicians. Integration of the two applications will help practices with multiple physicians to have access to all of their clinic’s patient data. This integration enables the data to be accessible across multiple computers, rather than just one computer. The programs integrate using an API, or Application Programming Interface, which allows the user to access each program through an interface.
The integration of Cliniko and Zoom enables practices to have access to all of their patient information across multiple computers. With an API, the user can easily access all of the programs from within one program, so they do not have to go back and forth between different programs. For example, if a clinician needs certain information about a patient, they can go into Cliniko, put in the correct information, and then click on an icon that takes them into Zoom where they can access the patients information. Another advantage of using the integration of Cliniko and Zoom is that it saves time by eliminating the need to look for information in multiple places. When there are multiple physicians in a clinic, this function helps eliminate the need for multiple people to be looking for this information across multiple computers. Cliniko also has the benefit of being cloud based, which means that there is no need for any additional hardware or software to be installed in the clinic. Cliniko can be accessed anywhere in the world, but it must be accessed via internet browser, not mobile phone apps. The Cliniko platform does offer mobile apps for patients, but they are separate from the cloud based platform. The mobile apps are not integrated with the Cliniko platform. This means that they cannot be set up for notification when new appointments are made or when test results come back. If there is an urgent situation when a patient calls about their test results, the patient would not be able to get in touch with their clinician via app because it is not integrated with Cliniko. Although there are mobile apps that are separate from Cliniko, there are no mobile apps that are integrated with Cliniko because Cliniko is cloud based. There are also mobile apps that are separate from Cliniko that allow the user to schedule appointments remotely. These mobile apps are available for both iOS and Android devices. Cliniko does offer some mobile apps that allow clinicians to access patient information when they are not at their computer; however, these mobile apps do not integrate with Cliniko. They must be downloaded separately. This means that they cannot be accessed through the same interface as Zoom and Cliniko.
