  • Integration of Zoho People and Downtime Alert

    • In order to integrate Zoho People and Downtime Alert, you need to have the Zoho People account first. If you don’t have an account yet, you can create it from here. https://www.zoho.com/people/signup/. You can then enter your accounts information into the Downtime Alert settings page which you can find here. https://downtimelabs.com/settings/. After entering your account information, you should enable notifications from Downtime Alert about your devices being down. You can enable or disable these notifications from this page as well. https://downtimelabs.com/accounts/personal/. After enabling these notifications, you should see a notification from Downtime Alert on your Zoho People dashboard saying that you have been notified about a device being down. If you click the link provided in the notification, you will be taken to the Downtime Alert page where you can view all devices that were down and when they were down. If you want to, you can also check what caused the downtime for each device if it was reported as “Service disruption” or “Serious service disruption”. This way, you will know if the downtime was caused by a service disruption or by a malicious attack against your device. Another useful feature of this integration is that if either your Zoho People calendar or email is down, you will be notified about this via Zoho People as well. For example, if your Zoho calendar is down and you try to access it from Zoho People, you will be tpd that the calendar is down and if you try to send an email from Zoho People, you will receive an error message that says that your email is down as well. This way, you will know if there’s a problem with one of your services before accessing it and thus less likely to be affected by any sort of outage. 2. If you want to disable any of these features or want to change your settings, you can do so by going to the settings page again and clicking on the “Notification Settings” tab under “Integration Settings”. From here, you can enable or disable notifications for Downtime Alert about your devices being down along with changes to your Zoho People calendar or email settings. You can also make changes to which devices are associated with your Zoho People account either by adding new devices manually or by importing them from another service like AWS IoT Core or Google Assistant if they are new devices that belong to your company. 3. Last of all, you can view reports on your devices being down via the “Reports” tab of the settings page of Downtime Alert. From this page, you can see reports for each day with all the devices being down on said day along with their status (downed or online. and whether they have been restored back online or not yet on the day they went offline due to a service disruption or attack. You can also view reports about your company’s status in regards to being online every day of the week along with what caused any service disruptions that occurred during that given day if they occurred on more than one device at the same time. This way, if something goes wrong, you will know who’s device had issues if multiple devices went offline at once or why they went offline in the first place if they were due to a service disruption or security incident. 4. If you want to export any of these reports for further analysis, you can go to the “Data Export” tab under “Integration Settings” and select which report(s. you would like to export. You can then download them directly in PDF format or in CSV format for further analysis in Excel or Google Sheets respectively. 5.
