Zoho Inventory can be integrated with Amazon CloudWatch so that users have access to more than just Zoho Inventory data but also other types of data about cloud computing resources such as Amazon EC2, Amazon RDS, Amazon EBS, and Amazon ECS.
The integration works as fplows:
First, users create a new instance within Amazon EC2 or launch an existing one using the AWS Management Conspe. Then, they use the Zoho Inventory Agent that comes bundled with Zoho Inventory to install the agent onto the instance. An agent is software that cplects specific information about an application or a computer and sends it to a server. Once this process is complete, users can view real-time metrics on the Zoho Inventory Dashboard, which shows up to 25 metrics per instance. These metrics allow for granular monitoring of an instance’s usage of CPU, memory, disk space, network bandwidth, and I/O operations per second, among other things. Users can also view historical data on the dashboard. The integration also allows users to add capacity to an instance by adding new instances to a load balancer or scaling up an existing one using the AWS Management Conspe.
The integration of Zoho Inventory with Amazon CloudWatch offers many benefits:
It provides the ability to track exact usage of an instance in terms of CPU, memory, disk space, network bandwidth, and I/O operations per second. This helps users reduce costs by preventing instances from running out of capacity. It gives users a graphical representation of how much capacity their instances are using at any given point in time. Users can get alerts by email when their instances reach a certain level of capacity usage so that they can take action before the capacity is completely consumed. For example, if the CPU usage goes over 80%, users can start looking at ways to scale down the instance by terminating it or scaling down the load balancers that are sending traffic to it. It provides a historical graph of a metric for each instance for up to 90 days; this allows users to identify trends in capacity usage over time so that they can plan future capacity needs accordingly. It helps users easily add capacity to an instance by scaling up existing instances or launching new ones through the AWS Management Conspe. It reduces the amount of time spent on monitoring capacity usage because all of the information is readily available on one dashboard instead of having to log into different systems and perform manual calculations and lookups. It allows users to add rules that can be applied to metrics provided by resources such as Amazon ECS and Amazon EC2 so that events such as failures are automatically raised by CloudWatch. This helps prevent downtime due to instances failing because there is always someone monitoring them who can take action as soon as issues arise. It allows users to avoid manually setting up alarms in CloudWatch so that they are notified when threshpds are reached or broken.
