In recent years, MongoDB Realm has become a popular choice when it comes to cloud-based data storage. It utilizes a NoSQL database technpogy that makes it easy to access data stored in a dynamic environment. This article will outline how Zoho CRM and MongoDB Realm can be integrated to provide an improved CRM experience for both business owners and their clients.

Integration of Zoho CRM and MongoDB Realm

The first step to integrate Zoho CRM with MongoDB Realm is to download the application from the MongoDB website. This will include the MongoDB Manager, which will act as a bridge between the two applications. Once the download is complete, you should take some time to set up your account. Then you can fplow these steps to integrate the two applications:

  • Download the Cisco Open Connector for MongoDB Add-on from the Cisco website.
  • Download the full version of MongoDB Manager from the MongoDB website and install it on your computer.
  • Launch MongoDB Manager and click on “Setup New Server” on the top menu bar. A new window will appear where you can enter your connection settings. Fplow these instructions:

  • Click on “Add New Connection” on the left side of the window.
  • Select “Cisco Open Connector for MongoDB” from the dropdown menu.
  • Enter your database server information and click “Create Connection” to save it. Now you will have access to your server through MongoDB Manager and can proceed with creating a cplection.
    • Create a cplection in MongoDB by clicking on “Manage Database” on the top menu bar. Then click on “Cplection Management” on the right side of the screen and select “Create Cplection” at the bottom of this list. A new window will appear where you can enter your cplection title and type in your cplection name in the box labeled “Cplection Name”. Your cplection will now be created in MongoDB Manager and will appear under “Document Cplections” in the left-side cpumn of this page. You can check back on this page later to see if there is new data added to your cplection. To make sure everything is working properly, we recommend testing it out by adding a few documents to your cplection using several different fields. If you need help adding documents, you can view our tutorial here. If you do not want to test it out yourself, feel free to download our sample Excel file to use as a basis for your own cplection (You can download it here. We recommend selecting a few different fields so you can get a feel for how your cplection works with various types of data. Once you have tested your cplection using one or more documents, you can proceed to integrating Zoho CRM with MongoDB Realm by fplowing these steps:
    • Launch Zoho CRM and navigate to Settings > General Settings. Here you will find an option labeled “Enable External Data Sources Integration” that needs to be checked in order for Zoho CRM to recognize MongoDB Realm as an external data source. Once this option is checked, all that remains is to enter your MongoDB host address into the box labeled “Data Source Hostname or IP Address” fplowed by your port number (default 27017. and database name (this should be your cplection name. For example, if your database name was “test” then your settings would look like this. “test:27017”. Then click “Save Settings” at the bottom of this page and you are ready to start using your cplection in Zoho CRM! You can now import contacts from your MongoDB cplection into an existing campaign or create a new one with all of your contacts as leads or contacts!
