Integration of Zendesk and Storenvy

Zendesk is a San Francisco-based company that provides software to help companies manage their customer service. It was founded in 2007 by Mikkel Svane, the current CEO, and Thomas Pedersen, the CTO. In 2008, it received $250K from Mangrove Capital Partners. It has since grown into a global company with 500 employees across the globe and has raised $84M in venture capital. In addition, it has received numerous awards for innovation including Red Herring 100 Europe and TechCrunch Disrupt.[1]

In 2011, Storenvy announced its acquisition by eBay for $36M. Storenvy was a marketplace that created online stores for individuals and businesses. It was founded in 2009 by Michael Simon and Fong and started with only $1M in funding from friends and family. The entrepreneur bootstrapped the initial development of the business until they received their first round of funding from Y Combinator. From there, Storenvy grew to be the largest marketplace on the internet in terms of traffic.[2][3]

Zendesk and Storenvy have recently announced their integration of services. The integration allows Zendesk users to create online stores within their service. Users can also use Zendesk’s building tops to customize the store as well as track metrics such as sales data and overall performance. Storenvy users will receive an email from Zendesk asking them whether they want to integrate their store with Zendesk or keep it running separately. If they select the latter option, they will also be prompted to transfer their products over to Zendesk’s website.

The benefits of this integration include better user experience for customers because they are able to search for products from both their Zendesk account and the Storenvy website.
