Amazon S3 (Simple Storage Service), commonly referred to as simply S3,[6] is an online storage web service offered by Amazon Web Services (AWS.[7] Amazon S3 provides storage through web services interfaces.[8] It was designed to make web-scale computing easier for developers.[9] Amazon states that it will pay users 50% of the cost of storing data for any month that they use at least 99.95% of the available storage during the month.[10] Amazon S3 provides features such as “Versioning” which automatically keeps multiple copies of objects as they change.[11]
