Integration of Xendit and Wave

  • Xendit is a software that can be used to keep records of all of our data and information in the Cloud. The development of this software began in 2004. It was created by two young scientists, two students of the University of California, Berkeley. Their names are Dr. Sami Saydjari and Dr. H.P. Rangaswamy. The name of the software is Xendit. It is an abbreviation of “extend your data”. It means that data can be extended to the Cloud, where it will be kept in the form of a series of hashes. Hashes are unique digital signatures for files. A hash is like a fingerprint. It recognizes a file or file-fpders by its contents.
  • In 2004, Xendit was conceived as a system that would allow users to store their files in the Cloud and thus to protect them from any danger. This danger can be natural disasters, human aggression or terrorist attacks. Users were allowed to save their files on Xendit servers and to recover them in case of emergency. In 2005, Xendit was tested by some companies and they praised the efficiency of the system and its ease of use.
  • In 2006, the developers of Xendit launched a similar project – Wave. Wave is also a cloud-based service which was developed for storing files online and sharing them with other people. Users can also keep their personal information online on Wave servers. At the moment, Wave is still under development but it has already been launched for public testing and it is expected to be released very soon.

Integration of Xendit and Wave

  • In 2009, after two years of work on Wave, Drs. Saydjari and Rangaswamy came up with the idea of integrating the two services so that users could benefit from both of them at the same time and thus receive an increased level of security for their files and their personal information which are stored online in the Cloud. By integrating Xendit and Wave, users will benefit from faster access to their data and they will be able to recover their data if anything happens to them.
  • Now it has become possible for users who have signed up for Xendit to import their data into Wave, and then to recover it in case something happens to them or to their own computers. If somebody steals a mobile phone with all of your data stored in it, you can recover everything because it has been stored in the cloud and not on that particular phone.
  • When Wave files are transferred to Xendit, they are converted into hashes. These hashes are then transferred to Wave where they are associated with new key values which are provided by Xendit users themselves. Those who use the new version of Xendit can create cryptographically secure passwords which they will use to access their Wave accounts from any computer that has Internet connection. These passwords are impossible to crack because they are created on a server based on a user’s own account number (or keys), his IP address and a special algorithm developed by Drs Saydjari and Rangaswamy called “the unique password generator”. This password generator ensures that no two users have the same password, even if they have the same account number and IP address on the same server at the same time.
  • Moreover, when users access their Wave accounts from any computer, they will be able to restore all of their data from backups stored at an offsite location in case something happens to them or to their own computers. They will also be able to recover all files which belong to them even if they change their computer or their mobile phone or if either one of these devices gets lost or stpen by anybody else because they are stored in the cloud not on any particular device but rather on multiple servers which are located in various places around the world (in countries such as Japan and Sweden.
  • Thus, users will receive a greater level of protection for their information than they would get if they simply store their documents on their computers at home or at work or even if they store them on their mobile phones or other portable devices. When using Xendit and Wave together, users will store their files online in the Cloud but they will have much greater contrp over them than they would otherwise have had because they will be able to access them from any computer with Internet connection anywhere in the world without having to use any complicated passwords or without having to do anything more than enter the email address which they use on Wave (because Wave’s email addresses will be used as logins for Xendit.

Benefits of Integration of Xendit and Wave

  • Using Xendit and Wave together offers many benefits that cannot be offered by either one of them separately:
  • First of all, users will have easy access to their files wherever they are because they all will be stored online in the Cloud and not only on individual computers. Thus, when users want access to their files but don’t have access to their machines, they can simply log into Xendit or Wave using their email accounts from any computer with Internet connection anywhere in the world and then can access all of their files without having to do anything except click on links which lead directly to those files (which will be shown on their screens. without having to type anything else into any text fields (or “boxes”. whatsoever except nothing more than the email addresses which they use on Wave (which will serve as logins for both of these services.
  • Another benefit is that users will have instant access to their backups stored at offsite locations because every computer that is connected to the Internet has an IP address which allows computers anywhere in the world to communicate with it without having any difficulty whatsoever (and without requiring any advance configuration. Therefore, whenever users want to access their data stored in those offsite locations, nothing more than clicking on a link leading directly there is required because their IP address is what identifies them as users accessing those offsite locations (and thus allows them to recover all of their data. There will be no need to type anything else into any text fields except nothing more than their email address which they use on Wave (because this email address will function as logins for both services.
  • Another benefit is that users may recover all of their data even if they change computers or mobile phones because those devices won’t contain any copies of their data but rather will simply serve as links leading directly to all of those copies which are stored online in the Cloud in multiple locations around the world (wherever there are servers located. As soon as their new devices connect with any one of those servers (which is possible everywhere around the world), those new devices will become fully operational because all of users’ files will automatically appear on them without requiring any additional actions beyond entering into those new devices whatever email addresses they use on Wave (which will act as login information for both services.
