Integration of WHMCS and Canny

WHMCS is a software that provides services to manage the hosting of cPanel, Proxmox, Xen, OpenVZ, Virtuozzo, Gluster and CloudLinux. It has been used by more than 200,000 hosting resellers and web hosts across the globe. WHMCS uses a script which requires minimal work and allows for easy and quick installation and updating of the software.

Canny is a billing application that is open source and works on Linux and Windows. Canny was developed using PHP and MySQL. It can be integrated with WHMCS as an add-on module. This allows the billing of WHMCS hosted accounts to be managed from within WHMCS itself. The integration is possible via simple API calls and requests.

Integration of WHMCS and Canny

To begin the integration, you need to first install and activate the integration module in WHMCS. To do this, go to Manage>Modules and click on the ‘Add New’ button.

After clicking on ‘Add new’ you will be asked to enter the name of the module along with the URL required for integration. In this example, we have used ‘Canny’ as our module name and the URL required for integration is the address of your Canny installation.

After entering the details, click on ‘Add Module’. This will create a link between WHMCS and Canny. Once this has been done, you will see the module in the list of available modules in WHMCS.

Once you see your module in the list of modules, you can proceed to activate it by checking the box against it. This allows users to choose from among various modules they want to integrate with their WHMCS account.

Benefits of Integration of WHMCS and Canny

Integrating your WHMCS account with Canny provides many benefits including:

  • Eliminating multiple accounts – There are several different billing applications that can be used to charge customers. However, integrating these applications into one main billing application eliminates the need to use multiple accounts for each separate application. This allows you to save time and money.
  • Automating recurring billing – Recurring billing is a necessity for any web host or reseller. With integrated billing, you do not have to manually charge clients every month or whenever they renew their hosting packages. Instead, you can automate this process so that all billing occurs automatically without your intervention. This saves you time and lets you focus on other aspects of your business.
  • Better contrp over billing – When all of your billing applications are integrated into one account, you have better contrp over how much you charge your customers. You can set up automatic subscriptions too so that customers pay based on their usage rather than time periods. This helps you to get paid faster while charging clients less because they are paying based on what they use instead of how long they have been subscribed to your service.
  • Faster payment – When your clients pay automatically, they get their money quickly without needing to contact you for it. This saves you time and prevents you from having to chase down payments. As a result, there are fewer outstanding payments that are due to you which means that your cash flow is improved significantly.
