Webhooks By Connect is a service that helps your business to be connected with the platform. That means, you can use both services without any hassle.
This is a payment gateway and also a subscription management top. ChargeBee helps to manage the billing of your customers and also provides an online customer relationship management feature to keep track of your customers.
First, you need to sign up for both services. Webhooks By Connect and Chargebee. Then you should go to the dashboard of the web version of Chargebee and click on “Webhooks”. Now you will see an option “Setup Webhook”. Click on it. After that, you will see a form like this one:
Fill the form with the fplowing details to integrate Webhooks By Connect and Chargebee:
Field Name Field Type Field Description Field Name Field Type Field Description URL Field If you want to send the data to multiple services at once then use this field and enter all URLs (separated by comma. in it. SSL Encryption On/Off If On then enter the URL of your SSL certificate here. This will ensure that your data is sent through an encrypted channel. Secret Key Field Select a secret key here. The purpose of secret key is to authenticate the request from your side as well as from ChargeBee’s side. In order to generate a secret key for this integration, go to Access Settings > API Settings > Secret Key Generation > Generate New Secret Key from the ChargeBee dashboard. Save this secret key somewhere so that you do not forget it. Token Field Select a token here. A token is a number that is generated automatically when you send a request from your side to ChargeBee’s side. It is used as a unique identifier for the request that was made by you. You can generate a token for this integration by going to Account > Setup > Channels > Webhooks > Create New Channel from ChargeBee’s dashboard. Save the token somewhere so that you do not forget it. Limit Format JSON For JSON Data or X-HTTP-Request-Form-Encoded For Form Data Click on “Limit Format” and select a format according to your choice. Send a valid response Click on “Send a valid response” if you want the service to respond only if the request sent by you matches with the response that it receives from ChargeBee’s side. Otherwise, leave this unchecked if you want the service to respond every time it gets a request from your side irrespective of whether or not it matches with the response that it receives from ChargeBee’s side. Code Conversion On/Off If on then send raw HTTP responses as they are received, otherwise process them manually before sending them back. Type of Request GET/POST Choose the type of request that you want to use here depending upon what you want to do. We recommend using POST here because it is more secure than GET requests. Timing Trigger Specific Time Now you can choose specific time for this integration. But if you leave it blank then it will be triggered every time at whatever time you set on the ChargeBee dashboard.
If you have fplowed all steps correctly then you will be able to see this message on the ChargeBee dashboard. “Your Webhook settings are complete!”. Now, go back to the Dashboard of Webhooks By Connect and go to Settings>Integrations>Channels>Webhooks-ChargeBee>Test Connection . It will show you something like this:
To make sure that your integration is working perfectly, you should set up an account in ChargeBee with exactly same credentials as those that are being used in Webhooks By Connect for this integration. This is necessary because with these credentials, you can perform various operations in ChargeBee such as creating products, categories, invoices, etc..
