Vtiger is a CRM (Customer Relationship Management. system that can allow users to manage their customers, leads and contacts. It allows users to create custom forms, online surveys, announcements, and newsletters for the different user groups. It also allows users to organize them by creating groups and subgroups. Some of the features Vtiger has are, Custom fields, Dashboard, Calendar, Contacts/Leads, Email Marketing, Bookings, Reports, Newsletters, Announcements, and Forms.

Xero?

Xero is a cloud accounting software that can be accessed on any device with internet access. It is a bookkeeping software that allows users to manage their finances, accounts receivables and payables. Xero has some of the same features as Vtiger such as Custom fields, Dashboard, Calendar, Contacts/Leads, Email Marketing, Bookings, Reports, Newsletters, Announcements, and Forms. The difference between Vtiger and Xero is that Vtiger is an all-in-one spution for managing your business whereas Xero is only a bookkeeping software.

Integration of Vtiger and Xero

Vtiger and Xero integrate together seamlessly. This integration allows the user to have a full suite of tops that will allow them to manage their business in one place. You can integrate the data from both platforms to give you a complete picture of your business. We will show you how to integrate Vtiger and Xero by using the API (Application Programming Interface.

API - Application Programming Interface allows two software programs to communicate with each other by sending and receiving information through a computing device like phones or computers.

To start off we need to get an API key from Xero. To do this go to your Account menu and then click on API Keys. This will bring you to your API Key page. Click on Generate API Key. This will generate your API key. Remember this key because you will need it later. After you see your API key click on Copy to copy the key. Now we need to go back to Vtiger and add our new API key to Vtiger. To do this go to your main menu and click Settings -> Integrations tab -> Add an integration -> Add a new integration -> Click on Xero -> Enter your email, password and the generated Xero API Key into the text boxes that appear -> Click on Save & Continue -> Then click on Save & Finish

After you have added your API key you will be sent to a page called Integrations Summary Page. Here you will see all of the integrations you have added to your Vtiger account. Click on Activate button next to Xero.

Next go to Vtiger's Settings -> Accounts -> Add New Account -> Xero -> Enter your login credentials for Xero into the textbox.

After entering your credentials you should see your Xero account under the Accounts page in Vtiger.

Now we need to create a new connector in Xero so that it knows where in our account to put the data that comes from Vtiger. To do this go to Connectors -> New Connector -> Choose existing connector type -> Select Web Services -> Click on Save Connector -> This will bring up a form titled Create a new web service connector.

In this form we need to enter our website URL so that when we create a connector it knows where to send the data. In the Web service endpoint URI field we need to enter https://www.yourwebsite.com/vtigervx/. This tells Xero where our data is being sent from so that it knows where to deliver the data from Vtiger. In the Service Name field enter vtiger_xero, this is the name for this specific connector so that we know what this connector does later on. In the Description field we can write anything about the connector we want or leave it blank. Finally we need to fill in the Authorization Token field with the API key we created earlier in Vtiger. After you have filled in all of these fields click on Save Connector .

You will now see a success message at the top of the page stating that your connector has been created successfully .

Next we will go back into our Vtiger account and create a new connector by going into Settings -> Integrations tab -> Add an integration -> Add a new integration -> Click on Xero -> Enter your email, password, and API key into text boxes that appear -> Click on Save & Continue -> Then click on Save & Finish .

After we have added our new connector we will go into our Vtiger account under Settings -> Integrations tab -> Click on Active Status next to our new connector that we just created. If it says Active then congratulations you've integrated Vtiger and Xero!
