uProcess is a graphic user interface (GUI. for scientific analysis to either manipulate and display data or create new algorithms to be used in data processing. This means that it is not a single top, but an environment in which graphical tops can be integrated with each other in order to provide more capabilities than individual tops.
Canny is an edge detection algorithm, especially useful for image segmentation. It is often implemented as part of an image processing software package, either as a separate module within the software or as a plugin running on top of the main program. It was first developed by John F. Canny in 1986.
uProcess is able to import Canny data and then export it back to the original file type. This allows uProcess to have access to all of the functionalities and algorithms that are present in Canny without having to write a new program specifically for the task. A typical sequence of operations would be. importing the data; applying a filter; saving the data as a new file; and exporting it back to the original file type.
