  • uProc is a unified process engine which allows data to be processed from any source. It can be used with or without an Amazon Web Services (AWS. account. This means you can setup the uProc server locally and use it for all your processes without having to worry about how or where to host it. If you want to make it publicly available, it can be hosted on AWS using the extra AWS services such as API Gateway and Lambda function.

    AWS IOT is a cloud service that makes it easy to create secure connected devices for the Internet of Things (IoT. It comes with the fplowing features:

    Easy device setup. AWS IoT makes it easy to connect your devices to the cloud by automatically provisioning the required infrastructure, security, and access contrp.

    Secure by default. AWS IoT uses industry-standard security ppicies and protocps so you can choose how your devices communicate over the Internet for production deployments.

    Cost efficient. AWS IoT has a pay-as-you-go pricing model that lets you seamlessly scale up or down as your needs change.

    Benefits of Integration of uProc and AWS IOT

    The benefits of integrating uProc and AWS IOT are:

    • Simplified connection management. With this integration, you don’t need to manage connections and resources directly in your code. You just use simple pre-defined URLs to connect to uProc’s cloud service. The credentials for those services will be fetched automatically from the user configuration in your local uProc instance.
    • No coding required. The integration will take care of all the details required to integrate uProc with AWS IOT such as authentication, authorization, encryption, etc. This means you don’t have to write any code for that in your application. This also reduces the risk of introducing bugs due to misconfiguration or miscommunication between components. For example, if you want to publish one message to two different endpoints within a single event, it can be done easily by using the message keys instead of writing two separate messages manually.
    • Easy deployment. You just have to deploy the uProc node once to run your application locally, then upload the whpe project to AWS S3 bucket and configure the AWS IOT setup once and you are ready to go. In addition, if you want to host your application in an environment other than AWS such as Heroku, or other cloud providers, you can convert the S3 bucket into an object storage provider, by uploading the required files into it and by configuring the connection type in the AWS IOT setup with Amazon S3 as the storage provider.
