Due to Square’s growth in the mobile payments market, they have been looking for ways to integrate their services with other platforms. In 2011, Square began to offer a free API (application program interface. to developers who wanted to connect their app to Square’s hosted Point-of-Sale system. In 2013, Square released its first set of developer tops with the goal of making it easier for developers to build on top of their platform.
Square has announced that they will be offering free access to a new payment service to sellers using the merchant-facing portion of Square Register. The service will be called Square Pay with PayPal and will allow sellers to accept payments from customers using the PayPal payment option. The service will be available starting in October 2014 in the U.S., UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, and Ireland.
For merchants using the “Square Point of Sale for iPad” app, they will have access to a feature called “Pay Anywhere” that will allow them to create a unique payment code and share it with customers for immediate payments from a seller’s phone number or email address.
Square Pay with PayPal is a way for sellers using the Square Register system to quickly and easily accept PayPal payments from customers at checkout. The service will rpl out gradually starting in October 2014 in the U.S., UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, and Ireland.
Square Pay with PayPal will enable sellers using Square Register to pay their employees, vendors, suppliers, and contractors without requiring them to create a Square account or provide a credit card or bank account information. The service will also enable sellers who already use Square Register with PayPal to create a seamless payment process for their fast growing customer base.
Square Pay with PayPal works by allowing sellers accepting payments through Square Register to send funds directly into a PayPal account from their bank account. With Square Pay with PayPal the seller can accept all major credit cards while cplecting funds directly into his or her PayPal account. It also enables sellers to accept PayPal payments directly by providing an instant link for customers to pay their invoice. Customers can then store this payment method on file so they can make future payments from their saved computer or mobile device.
