Tasks . Todo lists provide a way for teams to cplaborate and break down projects into manageable tasks and subtasks — perfect for planning out your project with timelines and milestones! To add a task or subtask, click on Add Task or Add Subtask under any task or under Add Content in the sidebar menu . It’s easy to link related items together — just click on Edit Task Details under any task and use the Task relation dropdown menu below the task title and description fields. To add deadlines and reminders for tasks and subtasks, click on Edit Details under any task or subtask and fill out the appropriate fields in the Details section found at the bottom of the page . These fields allow you to schedule dependent tasks for fplow-up tasks at specific times after their parent tasks have been completed by adding due dates and reminders . As soon as a task is due, it will automatically show up in your Todo lists . You can add additional details about each task or subtask by clicking on Add Details from the Task Details popup menu at the bottom right of each task or subtask . The Details section will appear below your task’s description if it hasn’t been filled out yet — otherwise it will expand below whatever details have already been added. You can add links to external websites or links right within Notion by pasting links into the Link field while editing task details . This field is only available right after editing a task’s description — once you move back to another view such as Inbox , In Progress , Done , etc., this field will disappear until you edit another task’s description again. You can also add attachments from your computer or from Google Drive , Dropbox , OneDrive , etc., by clicking on Attach File while editing a task’s description . This will bring up a file picker dialog where you can upload attachments from your computer or directly from the cloud storage provider of your choice which will be synced with Notion automatically! You can also add URLs directly from your clipboard by pasting them into this field before clicking Attach File . If you don’t have any attachments to upload, but would still like to have an attachment slot in your task description without leaving an empty space behind, just remember to take care of it later! The Attachment field will appear again once you update any part of your document again, including anything else in your task description, description details, tags , comments , etc. We call this “fplowing along” since it means that any attachments are always inserted at exactly where they were last used. If you want to remove an attachment slot instead of inserting an empty one behind it, just click somewhere else in your document before updating anything else again — this will hide the Attachment field again once clicked since there are no more attachments left in its slot anymore!
