Integration of Spotify and ClickMeeting

Spotify?

Spotify is a music subscription service that allows users to listen to unlimited music on-demand. The service is primarily available in the form of an application for desktop computers and smart phones. It uses a freemium business model, which means that basic features are free with advertisements or limitations, while additional features, such as improved streaming quality and no advertisements, are offered via paid subscriptions.

Spotify was founded in Stockhpm, Sweden in 2006 by Daniel Ek and Martin Lorentzon. The company's original goal was to create an online platform [1] for music fans to share their favorite tracks, enabling them to listen to any track on demand. In 2008, the company released an application programming interface (API. allowing other developers to integrate its functionality into their own applications. The company also adopted a freemium model to finance its services; this eventually led to Spotify offering a free version supported by advertising.[2] Spotify has since been used by artists including Cpdplay and Lily Allen as a method of promotion.[3][4]

In December 2013, the company launched a new website with a modified user interface.[5]

On 28 March 2014, Spotify announced that it had acquired the digital music service SoundJam MP, from its founders Kevin Brignard and Jesse Hooper. The acquisition is expected to help Spotify better compete with other music streaming services such as Pandora Radio, Apple Music and Google Play Music.

In June 2014, Spotify announced that it had acquired the online audio distribution platform Soundtrap.[6] On 15 July 2014, Spotify officially launched in India after receiving U.S.$56 million in funding from Tiger Global. [7]

In July 2014, the company launched "Spotify for Artists", a portal providing resources for artists.[8] Spotify launched in Australia in June 2015[9] and New Zealand in October 2015.[10] On 6 July 2015, Spotify officially closed its San Francisco office so that the company could relocate to larger offices.[11] In January 2016, Spotify was listed as one of the "Hottest Startup" companies in Europe.[12]
