Snapchat is a social media platform that allows users to take photos and short videos and send them to their friends. When a photo or video is taken, it disappears after 10 seconds. The idea behind this was to give people a sense of urgency while sending photos and videos to people. This would hopefully encourage users to send snaps with the intention of sending them one-way. The integration of these two would allow employees of companies to provide better customer service by sending photos and videos directly to the customers rather than having to write down every issue separately. It would also allow customers to communicate directly with support staff through Snapchat. This would eliminate the need for customers to call their customer service lines or email them about their issues. It would also help reduce the amount of time that customers spend waiting for responses because they would receive those responses almost immediately.
It is apparent that Zendesk/Snapchat integration would greatly improve customer service operations within organizations and companies; however, there are some points of criticism regarding this integration. One criticism is privacy issues. Although Snapchat does not allow users to send messages to specific people without being added to their list of friends, there are some ways that some people can hack into your account and view your private messages, photos, etc. There have been reports of hackers gaining access to user’s accounts by phishing users into providing them with their passwords. Another issue with the integration is possible loss of productivity within organizations and companies due to employees spending too much time on Snapchat instead of working or taking care of business tasks. Lastly, there is the possibility that people will abuse this integration as well. Some people may send inappropriate photos or videos without considering who will see them.
Overall, I feel that Snapchat’s integration with Zendesk would be beneficial for companies and organizations who wish to improve their customer service operations by integrating Snapchat into their systems alongside Zendesk. I have only provided a few points of criticism about this integration; however, there are many more points that need to be considered before implementing this integration within companies and organizations.
