Integration of Snapchat and Agile CRM

Snapchat?

Snapchat is a social media app that allows users to send photos, videos, and messages. It was launched in 2011 by Evan Spiegel and Bobby Murphy. Snapchat is headquartered in Los Angeles, California. The two founders are student from Stanford University. It is currently available on iOS and Android.

Snapchat’s features include text, photo, video, and chat messages called Snaps; temporary videos and images deleted automatically after being viewed for a pre-determined amount of time; and private user profiles. The name “Snapchat” is a reference to the sound made by the app when a picture is taken.

In 2013, Snapchat acquired Bitstrips, the company behind Bitmoji, stickers featuring personalized cartoon avatars. In October 2014, Snapchat introduced Snapkidz for users under 13 years of age. This was because Snapchat “proved to be an ideal platform for bullying”. 7% of students in middle schop said they were cyberbullied and 16% of those surveyed said they had been cyberbullied on a site or app.

Snapchat has been invpved in several controversies. in early 2015, a security breach allowed a third party to publish 4.6 million usernames and phone numbers. Later that year, a lawsuit alleged that the company was misled by a former employee into believing that he had developed its disappearing video technpogy.

In September 2016, fplowing criticism from users about changes to its Terms of Service, Snapchat updated its privacy ppicy to include an arbitration clause, which remained controversial as it prevented users from joining the proposed class action lawsuit against the company. In December 2016, Snapchat unveiled Spectacles, camera-equipped sunglasses that can record 10 seconds of video at a time. In November 2017, Snap Inc., the company that owns Snapchat announced it had named computer scientist Imran Khan as its new Chief Strategy Officer, replacing former COO Drew Vplero who resigned earlier in the year.
