Smartsheet is a cloud-based project management Software and RingCentral is a cloud-based telephone service provider. The combination of these two companies is a perfect match since both are cloud-based, can be accessed anywhere, anytime, and from any device. Both have the ability to record calls and generate reports which can be used for business or personal use. RingCentral’s contacts are also integrated with Smartsheet. In the fplowing paragraphs, I will discuss how Smartsheet and RingCentral can be integrated as well as how they can benefit from integration.

The integration between Smartsheet and RingCentral is easy to set up and use. First, you need to sign up for a RingCentral account by going to www.ringcentral.com . Once you sign up, you will receive an email confirmation which will contain your username and password. Then, you need to go to https://www.smartsheet.com/ideas2action/products/developer/ringcentral_integration/ and fplow the instructions. After you enter your RingCentral username and password, you will see a list of all your RingCentral contacts that are in the “Contacts” group. Save this workspace to your account and it is ready for use. You can access your RingCentral contacts from the “Contacts” tab on the left side of the page of your spreadsheet and you can also search for contact information from the “Filter” cpumn of any other tab on the right side of the page. When you are viewing your RingCentral contacts, you will notice that each one has a green star next to their name if they have been assigned to a project or a red exclamation point if they have not been assigned to a project yet. A blue star indicates that the contact is not assigned to any projects but is assigned to a group. This allows you to easily identify which group members are working on what projects. With this integration, you have the ability to track every phone call you make in a spreadsheet format, which will help you analyze all the calls you make and manage your time better. You also have the ability to record your phone calls and add notes to each call, which will allow you to keep track of the conversation points that were discussed during each phone call. In addition, you can use this integration to send SMS text messages from within a spreadsheet, which is convenient when using an Excel spreadsheet instead of a word processor like Microsoft Word because not all people have text messaging capabilities on their cell phones. When sending an SMS text message via Excel, a pop-up box will appear allowing you to search for your contact by name or number. When you want to call someone, simply click their name on the Contacts list and click the Call button at the top right corner of the screen. You can also click on their name and then select the “Send Message” option from the menu that appears below their name or number. From here, you can choose between sending a text message or an instant message, both of which can include multimedia content such as images or videos.

In conclusion, I would say that integrating Smartsheet and RingCentral together is very useful because it allows one to have access to information about his/her contacts anywhere, anytime, and from any device. This integration saves time by allowing one to organize one’s contacts into groups so he/she knows where each member is needed most at that moment. It also allows one to record phone calls in a spreadsheet format so he/she always has access to those conversations in case there was ever a question about them later. Also, this integration enables one to send text messages or instant messages from within a spreadsheet without having to leave it, which is useful when wanting to send messages out via email or from within PowerPoint or any other word processor document since not everyone has text messaging capabilities on their cell phones.
