Your introduction should catch your reader’s attention, provide a context for the rest of the article, and should be between 1 and 2 paragraphs long. This section can be rewritten several times as you progressively improve your article.
Your body paragraphs should be between 3 and 6 paragraphs long, with each paragraph providing one piece of evidence supporting your thesis. Each paragraph should also have at least one transition. As you practice writing articles, you will notice it helpful to “sandwich” your thesis statement between two transitional sentences, so that it appears twice within each body paragraph. This is not necessary for the ACT, but it can help to organize your thoughts.
Your conclusion should summarize the points made in the body of your article, provide an appropriate transition to the next article, and be between 1 and 2 paragraphs long. Again, this section can be rewritten several times as you improve your article.

The first thing that comes to mind when I think about my phone is how useful it has become during schop hours. I use my phone to take notes in class and keep track of assignments. My phone helps me to stay organized at schop because it allows me to know exactly what I have due on any given day. Since I rely on my phone to keep me organized throughout the day, it would be hard for me to function without one. Another way that my phone has impacted my life is through social media. You could also choose to use ellipses (…. rather than quotation marks around direct quotations Use transitions correctly! This means that each transition word/phrase should connect two ideas that are related but not identical (e.g., “However…” connects two different thoughts by showing that both ideas contrast each other.
