On June 23rd 2014, Sina Weibo officially announced that Sina Weibo and ShipRocket will integrate their e-commerce platform and logistics platform to provide a seamless experience to users. Users can order items from any merchant on the ShipRocket platform using their Sina Weibo account and have them delivered through the ShipRocket network which includes more than 5,000 carriers. The partnership allows users to mark the status of their parcel as “delivered” directly on their Weibo account. With this integration, Sina Weibo expects its users to make a large number of online purchases directly on the network.
ShipRocket has over 50,000 merchants and 2 million active users on its platform. The company also provides an Android app that enables users to search for items, place orders and track shipments through the app. Shiprocket’s e-commerce service works across all devices including mobile phones and computers.
