Real-time alerts

You are able to set up real-time alerts when the performance of your website changes in a way that does not match your expectations or when certain tests fail. Alerts are sent via email or SMS depending on your choice. You can then investigate the cause of the alert and fix it immediately if necessary. This helps ensure fast recovery from any issues experienced by your website or its infrastructure so that it operates smoothly at all times without interruptions or delays in performance. You can also set up webhooks which will trigger an alert when an event occurs such as database failure or network outage. These alerts will be sent to third-party services such as Slack or HipChat for example which you may have integrated with Pingdom already using their developers API. Such alerts will help you respond immediately in case of any issues with your infrastructure or environment so that you can take measures quickly to respve them and avoid disruption in services resulting from them. This is particularly useful in situations where a human intervention is needed to respve an issue which would be difficult to automate with existing technpogy sputions. For example, if there is a fire in the server room resulting in loss of power to the servers then this alert would be received immediately so that people could be notified and take necessary action to respve the problem urgently before any damage is done. In addition to receiving alerts based on events triggered by Pingdom itself, Pingdom allows you to set up a custom notification URL where you can receive notifications when something of interest occurs regarding your website or environment such as HTTP response codes being returned by the server or the server being down completely. This gives you complete contrp over what kinds of events Pingdom should notify you about based on your preferences which helps save time especially since you do not need to configure each alert separately yourself since everything is configured automatically based on your configuration settings for each alert type.

Notifications via SMS (optional)

You may also use the optional SMS feature provided by Pingdom which enables sending notifications via SMS when certain events occur with your website such as when it goes down or when it becomes available again after downtime or when certain test fails or when webhooks trigger an event in any other way for example via Slack or HipChat etc.. If using this feature then please note that SMS messages are charged in some countries which are members of the European Union however do not charge for messages sent within their own country due to zero rating agreements between local telecom providers(5. Please contact Pingdom for details regarding these charges before using this feature if you are unsure whether you will incur additional costs depending on where you live since this feature may not work at all for individuals living outside EU countries if they are subject to additional charges for receiving texts due to these agreements between telecom providers which vary from country to country around the world(6. For more information regarding international differences regarding costs please visit Pingdom’s FAQ page(7. If you decide to use this feature then it is recommended that you choose an appropriate plan according to your needs which can be done here(8. Keep in mind however that this option is currently only available for some countries(9. If you decide not to use this feature then you can still receive alerts by email instead however if you choose this option it is important that you enable 2-factor authentication (2FA. otherwise it is possible that someone could access your account and disable 2FA so they could then start receiving 2FA codes themselves meaning anyone with access to these codes could gain unauthorized access without requiring them themselves which makes it very easy for malicious people to hack into accounts(10. Note however if using 2FA then it is always good practice to use different passwords for important accounts and if possible use 2FA codes generated on a device which could not be easily accessed by anyone
