Who is Shipwire?

Shipwire was founded in 2008 with the goal of making distribution easy for businesses that have multiple product lines. They use a model that allows businesses to "store, warehouse, pick, pack and ship items from a variety of different suppliers in a single location." In addition to this, they can also provide logistical services such as order management/fulfillment, inventory management etc.

Businesses come to Shipwire when they want to reduce costs and time spent on distribution. By using a cloud based system, they can make all products available to customers with ease. Any products that are not in stock can be fulfilled through Shipwire's logistics service. Shipping is done from a single location and then sent out from there. This minimizes the time that it takes for customers to get their orders.

Who is GetResponse?

GetResponse is an internet marketing software company that was founded in 2003 by Oleg Gutsp and Eugene Kogan. GetResponse has over 700 employees and serves over 4 million customers. They offer web-based email marketing, landing pages and surveys and other online marketing sputions. Their email marketing spution is claimed to be the world's most reliable and scalable email marketing platform. They claim to have 99.9% uptime on their servers and support more than 80 languages worldwide.

Integration?

Integration is defined as "the action of integrating or being integrated; state of being integrated; combining of unlike elements into a coherent whpe; combination; union; coordination; connection; joining; linkage; merger." (Merriam-Webster. It is typically used when referring to technpogy systems. Sometimes Integration is called Interoperability. Interoperability is defined as "the capability of two or more systems or components to exchange information and to use the information that has been exchanged." (Merriam-Webster. The two systems, in our case Shipwire and GetResponse, need to be able to communicate with one another in order for them to be integrated. This allows for them to function together seamlessly. The best way for us to understand this concept is through the use of an example. Below are two examples of how Shipwire integrates with GetResponse. Please note that these are just examples. There are many other ways that integration can occur between the two systems. Also, there are many other ways for Shipwire and GetResponse to integrate with other third party systems. The possibilities are endless!

Customer A purchases three items from Company A through their website. Company A uses Shipwire as their shipping partner. When Company A receives the order through their website, it gets sent to the Shipwire warehouse store. Since the store is integrated with GetResponse, it sends an email notification regarding the new order to Company A's marketing department. This notification informs Company A that an order has been received by Shipwire for shipment. The marketing department then adds the tracking number into GetResponse so that it can be tracked by both Company A and its customers. Once the package arrives at its destination, Shipwire sends another notification through GetResponse informing Company A of the successful delivery of the package. From this notification, Company A can log into GetResponse and check the status of all shipments through Shipwire right from within GetResponse. This saves Company A time because they do not need to go into their Shipwire account or track the shipment elsewhere online. When Customer B purchases ten items from Company B through their website, Company B stores their products in Shipwire's warehouse store using Shipwire's Fulfillment Services option. When Customer B places his order through the website, it gets sent to the Shipwire warehouse store for fulfillment purposes. Once his order has been shipped, Shipwire automatically notifies Company B about the successful delivery of their products via an email sent through GetResponse. Again, this saves Company B time because they do not need to log into Shipwire or track the shipment elsewhere online. Customer C purchases an item from Company C through their website. Company C does not use Shipwire for storage or fulfillment purposes, but they do use Shipwire for shipping purposes. When Company C receives the order through their website, it gets sent to the Shipwire warehouse store where it is picked up by one of the employees working there and sent out via USPS Priority Mail™ service. Once the package arrives at its destination, Shipwire sends another notification through GetResponse informing Company C about the successful delivery of the package. From this notification, Company C can log into GetResponse and check the status of all shipments through Shipwire right from within GetResponse as well as view any photos from the shipping process/tracking information etc. Again, this saves Company C time because they do not need to go into their Shipwire account or track the shipment elsewhere online. In this scenario, customer C receives a notification from GetResponse about a shipment from Shipwire since it was not stored in a Store nor fulfilled through Fulfillment Services.
