Although ShipStation is a very powerful shipping software program, it is not able to integrate with any other storage services. We do need the flexibility of storing and retrieving data from different sources. Hence, we integrate ShipStation and Firebase Cloud Storage to achieve this goal. After the integration of these two applications, the data storage application will support both file-based and object-based storage. This leads to a more convenient way of storing and accessing user’s data. The integration of these two applications will also allow us to enable our users to store their data on a cloud storage service while still have contrp over them. We are going to use Firebase Cloud Storage as our storage service for this project.
ShipStation is a powerful shipping software that integrates with many different shipping services such as FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc. It has a very good image editing top that allows the users to create their own shipping labels. It also supports all major eCommerce platforms such as Shopify, Magento, Ebay, Amazon, BigCommerce, etc. However, it does not support any cloud storage service. So we integrate ShipStation and Firebase Cloud Storage so that we can access ShipStation from within the Firebase conspe.
After integrating ShipStation and Firebase Cloud Storage together, they are now able to send emails to the customers automatically after a certain event occurs such as order placed or an item is shipped out. For example, by using webhooks in Firebase, we can send an email to a customer when their order has been shipped out from the warehouse. We can also send an email to the customer if he/she has ordered items that are out of stock in the warehouse. Therefore, this will save time on the part of customer service representatives and reduce the number of phone calls they have to make to customers.
