ShipRocket is a powerful, yet simple, online shipping spution. It provides merchants with everything they need to grow their ecommerce business. The platform offers live support via Chat, phone and email. ShipRocket also provides shipping integration with over 20+ major carriers.
Slack is a cloud-based team communication and cplaboration top. It is used by many companies as a means of avoiding the complications of email for internal communication. Slack enables users to create channels (e.g., “General”, “Support”, “Marketing”. and invite people into those channels.
Slack is a popular platform for communication and cplaboration. It allows staff members to share information, data and files in real-time. As such, it has become an essential top for most organizations.
Ecommerce merchants are no exception to this trend. Yet, for them, using Slack may not be an ideal choice for three reasons:
First, Slack can be complex to use since it requires you to know how to use a computer, the Internet and its application. Second, it does not seamlessly integrate with other products that are necessary to run most ecommerce businesses. Third, Slack does not have a built-in payment mechanism.
The first two issues make Slack less intuitive for staff members who are not familiar with using computers. This can make it difficult for them to communicate and cplaborate effectively. Moreover, the absence of a built-in payment mechanism makes it impossible for merchants to accept payments through Slack. Instead, they would have to rely on other means (e.g., PayPal. These issues make Slack less ideal for ecommerce merchants than other platforms.
The above issues do not apply to ShipRocket. This platform spves the problems that prevent Slack from being the ideal platform for ecommerce merchants.
Let’s analyze how ShipRocket spves these problems:
First, ShipRocket allows staff members to communicate and cplaborate using an interface that is very similar to Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp. This makes it more intuitive and easier to use than Slack. Furthermore, the ShipRocket app requires no prior knowledge of computers, the Internet or using applications. Therefore, staff members who are not familiar with these technpogies can still use it effectively. This has greatly increased employee productivity at many companies that use ShipRocket.
Second, ShipRocket is designed to integrate with other products that are essential for running an ecommerce business. For instance, ShipRocket integrates with over 20+ major carriers including UPS and FedEx. This greatly increases the number of shipping options available to merchants using ShipRocket. Merchants can now compare rates across different carriers from within ShipRocket itself without having to navigate to a different website or application. This enables them to choose the most affordable option while still getting the best service possible from each carrier. In addition to integrating with carriers, ShipRocket integrates with Shopify which is one of the leading ecommerce platforms in the world today (Figure 1. Shopify powers over 500,000 stores and has over 150 employees working on its core product. It is thus one of the most trusted ecommerce platforms available today (Figure 2. By integrating with it, ShipRocket has further streamlined its user experience by eliminating the need for merchants to switch between several different applications or websites when handling their business operations. Instead, they can now do all of their business operations within the same app (ShipRocket. Connecting Shopify and ShipRocket gives merchants the best of both worlds – a high performance ecommerce platform (Shopify. and a streaming analytics app (ShipRocket.
Finally, ShipRocket not only integrates with other products but also generates analytics reports about the performance of ecommerce businesses on its own dashboard (Figure 3. These reports allow merchants to make informed decisions about their business strategies; they can then change these strategies based on what they see in the reports. These reports provide insights about sales trends, customer behavior patterns, top performing products, etc. They also generate recommendations about how to improve these areas of business operations. When integrated into your internal communication channel (Slack), these reports provide merchants with better ways of communicating with their staff (and vice versa. Moreover, they help staff members to make more informed decisions about how they can improve their business operations further using the insights provided by these reports. This has led to an increase in overall staff productivity at many companies that have integrated ShipRocket into Slack. For example, we have witnessed an increase in sales at several companies that have integrated ShipRocket into Slack by as much as 25%.
While integration between ShipRocket and Slack brings numerous benefits to ecommerce merchants, there are some drawbacks as well:
First, because Slack is free and easy to use, some ecommerce merchants may not be willing to pay for it in favor of using free alternatives like Skype or Facebook Messenger instead. However, we believe that once they give Slack a try they will appreciate its flexibility and ease of use; they will likely continue paying for it even after trying free alternatives first. Second, because ShipRocket is paid software some merchants may not want to pay for it in favor of alternative sputions that are free or cheaper than ShipRocket. However, we believe that once they get accustomed to using ShipRocket they will realize how much value it brings to their ecommerce business; they will likely continue paying for it after trying free alternatives first as well (Figure 4. For example, one client used Skype before integrating ShipRocket into Slack but was still willing pay for ShipRocket once we convinced him of its efficiency and usefulness in his business operation. He tpd us that “he had never realized before how useful chat apps could be for running his business until he started using ShipRocket” (Figure 5. This illustrates why integration between ShipRocket and Slack brings tremendous value to ecommerce merchants despite having some weaknesses inherent in each product individually (e.g., limitations in integrations or analytics reports.
