Amazon DynamoDB enables you to focus on creating features for your applications instead of spending time managing the underlying infrastructure. Amazon DynamoDB continuously monitors your tables for performance and automatically distributes your data across multiple servers within an AWS Region to eliminate any single points of failure. Amazon DynamoDB will automatically scale up capacity within a second of any increase in read or write demand. There is no downtime during scaling, and no manual intervention required. You can scale down capacity to save money when it’s not needed.

Integration of shippit and Amazon DynamoDB

In order to integrate shippit with Amazon DynamoDB, we used a web application programming interface (API. named as Amazon Web Services (AWS. This integration will help us to connect shippit with Amazon DynamoDB. Shippit uses the AWS API to connect Amazon DynamoDB with its system. Here are some benefits of this integration:

  • To provide better shipping experience to customers:

By integrating two systems, we can have great benefits such as. Online customer can now track their shipments by visiting the shippit website. They can also do this by searching their shipment number in the search engine. This integration helps customers to track their shipments through any device having an internet connection.

  • To save cost on hiring staff:

Shippit has hired a team of people who are experienced in their field and able to work independently and efficiently. So, shippit does not require much staff to manage the shipping process. It doesn’t need more people because it has now integrated with an efficient system like Amazon DynamoDB. By this integration, shippit just needs to pay for the usage of Amazon DynamoDB and it does not have to invest in infrastructure and office space. So, shippit has saved money on cost by using this integration. This integration helps shippit to maintain its low prices because it does not have to spend money on salaries for any extra employees or on hiring agencies. But after the introduction of Amazon DynamoDB, if a customer places an order from Cambridge, MA, then the item will be shipped directly from Cambridge, MA to Delaware without going through Washington DC or Philadelphia or New Castle. This means that if shippit uses Amazon DynamoDB for delivering orders placed from Cambridge, MA, then it will save money on fuel by reducing its distance covered by vehicles from Massachusetts to Delaware state. The same situation will happen if shippit receives an order from California or Texas or Florida or Alaska etc.In addition to saving money on fuel, this integration also saves shippit money on fleet maintenance as well as it saves money on gas consumption because after integrating with Amazon DynamoDB system, shippit will need fewer vehicles in its fleet because they will be going less distance for delivering items than before where they were driving more miles for delivering items placed in different geographical locations like New York City or Boston etc. And since they are not traveling such long distances now that would have damaged their vehicles due to wear-and-tear on long drives and they were spending lots of money on repairing parts of vehicles over time but now they don’t need that expense anymore because their vehicles will be spending less time driving long distances which will improve the life expectancy of vehicles and will make them last longer without needing repairs too often so this will also reduce costs on vehicle engine maintenance costs as well as fuel costs too!
