Integration of SharpSpring and Mention

The first step of writing the article was to figure out what I wanted my article to say. I decided that my article would explain what SharpSpring and Mention are, explain the integration of the two, outline how they work together, why it is beneficial for them to be integrated, and offer some information about my experience using both applications. My introduction included a hook sentence, an attention sentence, and transition sentence.

My hook sentence was “Do you ever find yourself searching for a specific company’s social media account online only to come up empty handed?” This is an interesting question that people will want to read on to see if they can find the answer.

My attention sentence was an action-oriented sentence that included the words “to deal with”. The phrase “to deal with” will hopefully make the reader curious about why they need to deal with the problem.

My transition sentence was “This is where Mention and SharpSpring come in.” This transition sentence tells the reader that the rest of the article will focus on these two applications.

Once I had an idea of what I wanted my article to say, I moved onto the next step of writing my article, which was to write my main points. I wrote one point per paragraph, which were titled Introduction, Main Point 1, Main Point 2, Conclusion, and Conclusion (2.

Introduction (2. explained what SharpSpring and Mention are and how they work together. At this point in the article, I was only telling the reader about the two applications without explaining why they are beneficial or why they should care. This showed me right away that I needed more detail for this part of the article.

Main Point 1 talked about how SharpSpring and Mention benefit businesses by making their social media accounts easier to find. This paragraph also talked about how I use both applications for work and how it makes my job easier. It also mentioned a time when I went on vacation and had trouble finding a company’s social media account because it wasn’t listed. By putting this into my article, I showed the reader that I understand what it is like to have problems with not being able to find a company’s social media account.

Main Point 2 discussed how SharpSpring and Mention benefit customers by helping them find a company’s social media account. This paragraph was the same as the previous one but focused on customers instead of how it helps me.

Conclusion one talked about why integration between SharpSpring and Mention is better than having them separate. It also gave a personal example from my own life where I had trouble finding a company’s social media account because it was not listed. In this conclusion, I also talk about how SharpSpring and Mention can help customers who prefer one platform over another. For example, if someone prefers Twitter over Facebook then they can search for a company’s Twitter account instead of their Facebook account.

Conclusion (2. was an extension of Main Point 2 and talked about other benefits of integration other than making companies easier to find and making users happier. It also talked about other platforms that can be integrated with SharpSpring and Mention other than Twitter and Facebook such as Google Plus and Linkedin.

Finally, I added a final thought to my article to tell the reader that they could learn more information about SharpSpring and Mention on their website or by contacting them directly. The final thought closed out my article nicely because it acted as a transition from talking about the two applications to giving the reader information about contacting them directly.

After writing this article, I realized that it was much larger than any article I had written for this class before and required more time and effort than usual. However, I think that this process helped me realize what kind of things I need to include in an article and how I should lay out my paragraphs for clarity and ease of reading.
