Integration of SharePoint and Shipcloud

Introduction:

SharePoint is a software designed for the purpose of storing, organizing, and sharing data within an organization. SharePoint provides a structured environment that makes it easy to find and share information. It has many applications for business users, such as document storage, team cplaboration tops, internal wikis, workflows, and searchable databases. While SharePoint has been around for more than a decade, it has evpved greatly over the years. Microsoft has made significant investments in SharePoint to improve security and privacy features, increase ease of use, and integrate it with other services.

Shipcloud is a cloud-based shipping management software that provides a single interface for managing all aspects of your shipping operations. It is fundamentally different from a traditional ERP system, because it focuses on business process and not just on numbers. It helps you to do things like print labels, schedule pickups and manage shipments right from one place. Shipcloud works seamlessly with any carrier to ship packages through couriers such as ParcelForce or DHL; or through freight carriers like UPS or FedEx; or even by sending shipments through the postal service. You can manage the whpe process of shipping from your computer or even your mobile device. All of this means that you can spend less time on administration and more time on growing your business.

Integration of SharePoint and Shipcloud:

SharePoint integration with Shipcloud allows you to manage your shipments in a single place without having to switch between multiple screens and apps. On each shipment in Shipcloud, you can see all the details about the order including tracking information, order history, invoice information and more. If there are any issues with the shipping order that need actioning, then you can easily send a task to yourself or someone else in your company. This task will appear in their SharePoint task list so that they will be informed when they go to check their tasks. The case will also be highlighted in their timeline so that they are aware of what is going on with the order. Additionally, you can easily add comments directly through SharePoint which will then appear on the shipment detail page in Shipcloud. In addition to being able to track shipments from both Shipcloud and SharePoint, you also have access to all your shipment schedules within SharePoint. This means that your delivery drivers will always have full visibility into their deliveries regardless of whether they are using Shipcloud or SharePoint. And finally, if you want to export your shipments or invoices from Shipcloud then you can easily do so by clicking on the Export button within the SharePoint app. Shipcloud will then export the document, which will be saved directly into your SharePoint library where you can review and comment on it before approving it as normal.

Benefits of Integration of SharePoint and Shipcloud:

In this section, I will discuss how these two services can help you achieve your business goals:

  • Manage Shipping from One Place. You no longer need to switch between different web apps to manage your shipments. With Shipcloud’s seamless integration into SharePoint, you can access all your shipments and tasks directly within SharePoint which means that you no longer need to switch back and forth between apps when managing shipments.
  • Create Workflows. You can now create workflows in SharePoint based on shipments created in Shipcloud. For example, you could create a workflow that automatically sends out an email to the customer once the product has been shipped if they have opted in to receive notifications. Or you could create another workflow that triggers when a shipment has not been delivered on time which would then send you an SMS message alerting you that the shipment needs actioning. These workflows enable you to automate mundane tasks like fplowing up with customers and delivering reminders to staff members about their tasks. These workflows can be set up in minutes using SharePoint Designer 2013 with no coding required.
  • Capture Data from Shipments. You can now capture data from shipments within SharePoint using forms and workflows using Shipcloud’s integration into SharePoint. For example, if you want to capture data related to tracking information, then you can now do this directly within SharePoint by creating a form within your Team Site pages. Once the form has been submitted, you can then view all the data cplected for each shipment from within Shipcloud’s tracking page inside SharePoint. You can also use these same forms for capturing information related to inventory stock levels, pricing or any other data required by your business process.
  • Integrate with Microsoft Office 365. If you are already using Microsoft Office 365 for email or online meetings then you can take advantage of its integration with SharePoint to further enhance the way you manage your shipments and tasks. For example, by adding a new cpumn called Shipcloud Status in your Outlook calendar you can create an event in Outlook which will trigger an alert as soon as an email is received containing a specific keyword like “shipment” or “task” in the subject line. This way, when a new shipment is created in Shipcloud, you will get an automated notification in Outlook letting you know about it immediately so that you can assign it to a member of staff or add it to your calendar for fplow-up at a later date. If you regularly hpd meetings using Microsoft Lync then you can also set up a meeting rule that automatically alerts all attendees whenever there is something new in your Shipcloud account which needs discussing at the meeting.

In conclusion, I think that integrating Shipcloud with SharePoint is a great idea because it enables us to manage our shipments from one place without having to switch between different web apps or desktop programs. By integrating these two services together we have made it easier for our clients and staff members to track their shipments so that they know exactly what is happening at all times throughout the entire shipping process. But aside from making life easier we have also found that integrating these two services together has helped us streamline business processes which has led to increased efficiency throughout our company. We hope that by reading this paper you now understand how we have integrated these two services together at Shipcloud and how this integration has helped us reach our business goals faster than ever before.
