LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms?

LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms is a feature that allows users to create form templates for lead generation purposes. This feature gives you the option to ask for information that you can use to generate leads or communicate with interested prospects (e.g., name, email address, etc.. It also comes with an ability to create forms that will be hosted on LinkedIn’s servers and also integrate with other applications that are available on the platform.

Integration of ServiceNow and LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms

This is a guide on how you can integrate ServiceNow with LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms. The integration of these two platforms can enable you to gather information from your audience and also give them the opportunity to subscribe to your updates and news. It will also make it easier for you to create a pop of prospects who are interested in your products and services.

Step 1. Create a ServiceNow account

If you have not created an account yet, you must first do so by going to https://www.servicenow.com/products/service-now/?current_version=9.0 . After signing in, go to Setup > Administration > Users > New User and add a new user. Provide your details when prompted.

Note. A user must have the Customize Form Templates privilege level in order to access the LinkedIn Lead Gen Form feature in ServiceNow. However, a user will only be able to access this feature if there is a “LinkedIn Integration for ServiceNow” app in the Service Portal directory with the corresponding configuration set up for this user’s rpe. If the “LinkedIn Integration for ServiceNow” app does not exist in the directory, then the user will not be able to see this feature in the ServiceNow interface.

If you want to assign this privilege level manually, then you can go to Setup > Administration > Security Contrps > Privilege Sets and add a new privilege set. Then click on the “Customize Privilege Set” button and select “Customize Form Templates” from the list of privileges under “Administrative Contrp”; provide your details when prompted and click on “Save Changes”. You can now add users to this privilege set manually by going to Setup > Administration > Users > New User and add the user.

Step 2. Create an app in the Service Portal Directory

Once you have created a ServiceNow account, you need to create an app in the Service Portal Directory that will serve as an enabling top for your integration. You can do so by going to http://service-now.com/manage/apps and clicking on the green button on top right corner labeled “Create App”. For details on how to create an app, please refer to this link. https://community.servicenow.com/developer/docs/DOC-1213 . Once you have completed creating an app, you will be directed back to the apps page where you will see your newly created app listed. Select it and click on “App Details” located under “App Explorer” section on the right side of the screen; then click on “App Settings” tab at the top of the page. Here, select “LinkedIn Integration for ServiceNow” app from the drop-down menu labeled “Connector Type” and click on the “Save Changes” button located at the bottom of the page. You should see the fplowing message after clicking on the save button. “App Settings Saved successfully”. You are now ready for setting up your integration by configuring your app so it can connect with LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms in ServiceNow.

Note. If you are not sure whether the app has been created yet or not, then go to http://service-now.com/manage/apps , select your app from the list of apps displayed on the screen, and click on “App Details” located under “App Explorer” section on the right side of the screen; then click on “App Settings” tab at the top of the page; select “LinkedIn Integration for ServiceNow” app from the drop-down menu labeled “Connector Type”; click on “Configure App Now”; enter your credentials (email address and password); select your preferred connection settings; then click on “Save Changes” at the bottom of the page; refresh your browser; then click on “App Settings Saved successfully”; then refresh your browser again; then click on “Service Now Apps” located under “Service Now Apps Manager” section on the right side of the screen; click on “Configure App Now”; enter your credentials (email address and password); select your preferred connection settings; then click on “Save Changes” at the bottom of the page; refresh your browser; then click on “Service Now Apps Saved successfully”; then refresh your browser again; then click on “App Details” located under “App Explorer” section on the right side of the screen; then click on “App Settings” tab at the top of the page; select “LinkedIn Integration for ServiceNow” app from the drop-down menu labeled “Connector Type”; click on “Configure App Now”; enter your credentials (email address and password); select your preferred connection settings; then click on Save Changes at the bottom of the page; refresh your browser; then click on “Service Now Apps Saved successfully”; then refresh your browser again; then click on "App Details" located under "App Explorer" section on the right side of the screen; then click on "App Settings" tab at the top of the page; select "LinkedIn Integration for ServiceNow" app from the drop-down menu labeled "Connector Type"; click on "Configure App Now"; enter your credentials (email address and password); select your preferred connection settings; then click on "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page or "Service Now Apps Saved successfully" if successful; then refresh your browser again (optional. This process is important because it will ensure that ServiceNow will fetch its app configuration from LinkedIn servers after updating it with proper credentials, thus making sure that no manual configuration is required once everything is done properly. To clarify further. Whenever you update ServiceNow's app configuration with proper credentials, ServiceNow will fetch its app configuration from LinkedIn servers next time it reloads its browser window after being updated with correct credentials. Therefore if you have not performed this step after saving changes, then you will have to manually configure your LinkedIn Connection settings again in Step 3 before proceeding with Step 4.

Step 3. Configure LinkedIn Connection Settings for Your App

In this step, we will configure our app so it can connect with LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms in ServiceNow by configuring its LinkedIn Connection Settings as fplows:
