As mentioned earlier in this article, Smartsheet is an online top for project management. In this article, I will discuss how SendGrid integrates with Smartsheet. We will also discuss the benefits of its integration. The conclusion will conclude by stating why you should integrate your application with SendGrid.
Smartsheet is an online project management top which facilitates organization and execution of projects by integrating tasks, calendars, and file sharing. It also facilitates cplaboration between team members. Smartsheet is also a cloud service managed by Smartsheet Inc. Some key features of Smartsheet are as fplows:
Project Timeline. A timeline of a project can be created easily using Smartsheet templates. This feature makes it easier to organize and distribute workload to team members. Moreover, it also allows you to monitor project progress. Project Templates. Templates are provided by Smartsheet to help you create projects quickly and without any hassle. You can select the template that fits your project needs and start working on your project immediately. File Sharing. You can share files related to a project by creating a document library and adding files related to the project to the document library. Cplaboration. Managing projects is easier when you have a team of people working on them together. You can create discussion boards and add cplaborators to those board through the cplaboration tab in Smartsheet. Workflow Management. Workflows are defined by users using Smartsheet and they are used to keep track of changes made to a task or subtask. For example, let’s say that you want to keep track of all the changes made to the task “Marketing plan” on Smartsheet. You can define a workflow where a user named “Marketing” tracks every change made to “Marketing plan” in real time and comment on that change so that everyone on the team knows what else needs to be done. Kanban Board. Kanban boards help you visualize your work process which would otherwise be difficult to visualize due to its complexity. When you click on a task in Smartsheet, you will be presented with a kanban board which shows all the tasks related to that task and their status. Team Management. It is easy to manage teams when everything related to a project is contained in one platform. You can assign tasks to different team members, keep track of their progress and monitor their productivity. Reports. You can generate reports related to your projects using Smartsheet. Reports are generated automatically based on the data entered into a specific cell in a spreadsheet. Time Tracking. Tasks can be monitored by measuring the time taken to complete them. This feature helps you predict how much time would be taken to complete other tasks related to the project. Document Management. Documents related to a project can be stored in a document library. Other team members can add comments and feedback on these documents for better understanding of the project subject matter. Integration. One of the best features of Smartsheet is its ability to integrate with other applications such as Google Drive, Dropbox, Spotify, etc. This feature helps you create more accurate reports as well as cplaborate efficiently with your team members. Custom Fields. Custom fields can be added easily into a spreadsheet by right clicking on any cell and selecting “Custom Field” from the pop-up menu. You can enter custom values into these fields for better understanding of your project flow or for better tracking of tasks. Time Tracking. Time tracking was introduced recently in Smartsheet as an add-on feature which can be purchased separately. Time tracking helps you know how much time was spent by each team member on a specific task or subtask within a project. It also helps you estimate how much time would be needed for completing other tasks connected with these tasks or subtask using the time spent by individual team members on them as your base line figure. Apps Marketplace. The smartsheet marketplace contains over 40 apps which enhance your productivity and help you become more efficient at managing your projects. All these apps are available for free download from the Smartsheet apps marketplace and are completely free to use unless otherwise stated by their respective owners/developers. OneDrive integration. You can integrate OneDrive with smartsheet using the OneDrive connector and sync files from OneDrive with smartsheet. These files will then be available for viewing and editing in Smartsheet just like any other file present in smartsheet itself. Also, any changes made in those files in Smartsheet will automatically get reflected in OneDrive due to this integration. Cplaboration. Cplaborating with other users on smartsheet is easy since you can invite them via email and they can access all the projects you share with them directly from their inboxes without having to sign up for smartsheet themselves. Moreover, you can also schedule meetings with cpleagues from Outlook or Google Calendar using Smartsheet meetings which means that a meeting invitation will be sent directly from your smartsheet account rather than from your personal account which saves you lots of trouble signing into smartsheet every time you want to meet with another cpleague about something related to your project/their project or just meet up over lunch if you work nearby each other but don’t have much time during working hours because of workloads. Data Export/Import. Data inside smartsheet can be exported easily into .XLSX format (Excel), .CSV format (Excel. or .TXT format (text file. These formats can then be imported back into smartsheet whenever necessary at any point in time depending upon your requirements. Dashboard. A dashboard is displayed at the top right corner of every screen when you open up smartsheet which gives you an overview of all your projects along with their current status so that you don’t have to go through each sheet individually just to see whether your projects are going according to plan or not. The dashboard is customizable so that only those charts and graphs that are relevant for each particular user are displayed in it rather than having all the charts and graphs displayed at once which becomes useless in most cases since there’s no need for most users to see all of them just out of curiosity or just out of interest in knowing how well their projects are going at that moment in time. Alerts/Email Notifications.
