Canny is a web application that allows users to easily send email marketing campaigns without coding at all. With Canny, marketers can create email templates on the fly, add leads from an existing database, and get creative with their email marketing. Canny supports integrations with over 70 different marketing automation tops such as Hubspot, Marketo, Infusionsoft and Mailchimp. Once your email campaign is complete, Canny will give you a complete report of your email performance including open rates, click-through rates, opt-out rates and unsubscribe rates. Canny also features built-in A/B testing so that you can continuously improve your email campaigns while minimizing your risks.
Canny integrates with SendGrid so that users can quickly create automated email campaigns from Canny to their SendGrid account. When creating a new email campaign in Canny, there are two options for sending the campaign; one option is to “send to my recipient list” or “send to my database.” If you choose to send to your recipient list, you are prompted to select the type of list (e.g., Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo!, etc.. and the size of the list (i.e., number of contacts. After selecting those options, you are brought to the familiar Canny editor where you can create your email campaign through Canny’s user interface. Once the email campaign has been created in Canny, you can then select “send to my database” when prompted. This will allow you to select the name of the SendGrid account where you would like the email campaign sent.
If you choose “send to my database” when creating an email campaign in Canny, you will be directed to a “select recipients” page where you can select three options for how your recipients are selected. You can choose to add recipients who belong to a specific lead group within your database, add recipients who match specific conditions such as having specific properties or tags set (i.e., age, gender), or you can choose the “add all contacts” option which will add all of your contacts into a single group. Once you have selected a method for adding recipients into a group, you will then be prompted for a query that will determine which contacts are added into each group. For example, if you chose the “add all contacts” option and then selected a query that filters out contacts who have a specific tag set (i.e., female), then only contacts that match this criteria will be added into the group associated with this query. Once all of your groups have been created in Canny, you will then be asked for an ILS (integrated list service. destination where contacts will be added into each group and sent via SendGrid messages. Once you have given a destination for each group, Canny will automatically build your campaign and send it through SendGrid.
This integration between SendGrid and Canny simplifies sending email campaigns at scale because it utilizes SendGrid’s infrastructure to route messages to specific recipients in the database without requiring any coding skills. With this integration between SendGrid and Canny, marketers can save time creating new email campaigns because they do not need to code in order to build customized templates and apply them to their contact lists using Canny’s intuitive drag-and-drop interface. With this integration between SendGrid and Canny, marketers now have access to all of SendGrid’s routing capabilities so that they can create targeted campaigns using segments within a database while still utilizing email marketing best practices by designating an ILS (integrated list service. destination for each segment of contacts.
