Integration of SendGrid and Bitly

  • Introduction to SendGrid
  • Introduction to Bitly
  • Explain why they would be a good fit for each other
  • How are SendGrid and Bitly integrated?
  • What are the benefits of this integration?
  • What can we learn from this?
  • You’ll notice that in the outline, I didn’t include any specific details about how SendGrid and Bitly are integrated. That’s because it wasn’t relevant to the argument; what was important was that they were integrated. I’ll fill in more details when I actually write the paper.

    • Write the Paper

When you begin writing your paper, it helps to start with an outline. That way, you can make sure you cover all the necessary arguments; you don’t want any hpes in your paper. Then write the body of the article. After that, go back and edit it to include transitions, correct grammar, spelling, and so on. Finally, edit it again to make sure you’ve covered all necessary points.

    • Proofread

Have you ever seen a “proofreader” sign at the bottom of an electronic document? When you were typing up your paper, you probably didn’t stop to think about proofreading. But now is the time! As you read your paper over multiple times, pay attention to punctuation, grammar, spelling, and flow. If you have a friend or significant other who isn’t busy, ask him or her to read through your paper and correct any mistakes that he or she may find. It’s also a good idea to ask a few people you know to read through your paper before you submit it. They may be able to point out mistakes that you couldn’t see on later readings.

    • Submit Your Paper

Finally, when you think your paper is perfect, go ahead and submit it! Be sure to attach any images, figures, or tables you used in your paper.

    Pitfalls of Essay Writing

There are a few pitfalls you should be aware of when it comes to article writing. Keep these in mind as you work on your articles:

    • Don’t fall into a pattern of copying and pasting from Google searches. When an admissions officer reads a paper that has been copied from a Google search, she knows right away that there is no thought put into the paper. At best, this article will be tossed aside without a second glance. At worst, she will assume that the applicant doesn’t have any initiative and won’t put in the effort required to do well in business schop.
    • Don’t use only jargon in your paper. While it is appropriate to use industry-specific jargon in some cases (such as in a case study), don’t use jargon when you’re trying to explain things in an understandable way. For example, if you were writing an article about Apple, don’t waste your time comparing Steve Jobs to Steve Ballmer (Microsoft CEO. Instead, focus on Apple’s innovative products and how Apple competes in its market space.
    • Don’t be too self-promotional when talking about yourself or your achievements. Business schops want highly motivated and self-driven people who can lead teams and accomplish great things under pressure and uncertainty. While most applicants brag about their achievements in their applications, few actually accomplish anything substantial. You need to show that you will be able to accomplish great things at business schop and beyond—but bragging won’t get you far.
    • Don’t write an article about something you know nothing about. This is common sense—you can tell when someone is trying to bluff his or her way through an article topic. And if the topic is something that really interests you, go ahead and write about it! But make sure that you have enough knowledge about it for it to make sense in an article format.
    • Don’t write three different versions of one article and hope that one works out okay. Sometimes it makes sense to experiment with different topics before settling on one—but don’t try out multiple versions of one article. Each article should be unique! The admissions officers are reading hundreds of articles—they don’t want to read three versions of one article.
    • Don’t write an article for the wrong schop/program/schops/etc., unless specifically asked to do so by the schop(s. Remember that each schop has its own character and style. You can learn more about this by looking at profiles on MBA Admissions Blog (mbaadmissionsblog.com. or Poets&Quants (poetsandquants.com. Some schops might be looking for someone with very strong leadership skills while others might focus on someone who is very analytical or creative. Make sure that your article demonstrates that you are the ideal candidate for the program you are applying for!
    • Don’t copy other people’s words verbatim into your article unless specifically asked to do so by the schop(s. Each schop has its own set of prompts; don’t confuse yourself by trying to write the same article for two different schops (unless they specifically tell you they like similar articles. If you come across an article prompt that sounds like one you saw last week but really liked, don’t copy it exactly; instead, write about why this topic excites you in particular (and how it relates to your background. That way, even if someone else had already written about this topic for another schop, your article will still be different enough that it stands out!
    • Don’t plagiarize anyone else’s work in your article(s. This goes without saying—plagiarism can get you kicked out of business schop! If you use any quotes or ideas taken directly from other sources, be sure to cite them properly so that people can find them easily if they want to read them in full context (see Chapter 6.
    • Don’t forget to proofread before submitting your article(s)! A lot of people overlook this step because they are so eager to submit their articles that they just send them off without checking them for errors or typos. However, this is a big mistake! One spelling error could change the entire meaning of your sentence—or worse yet, could indicate that you aren’t as attentive as you would appear on paper! Be sure that there are no typos or grammatical errors before submitting your articles!

TIP #7. HOW TO WRITE GREAT ESSAYS FOR BUSINESS SCHOOL APPLICATIONS

As I mentioned earlier in this book, there are many different types of business schop applications besides the GMAT! In addition to articles on the GMAT itself, there are application articles for business schop programs as well as articles for schparships and fellowships. There are also articles required by professional organizations such as law firms and consulting firms—and sometimes even by employers themselves! In fact, this book would not exist if my mother hadn’t been required to prepare an admissions article for my law schop application!

In this chapter I will discuss how to select a good topic for a business schop application article and how best to structure your thoughts around a topic. I will also provide examples of actual articles from successful business schop applicants who used tips from this book to improve their articles significantly! You can use these examples as a guide for writing your own articles for business schop applications—but remember that every application is different and what works for one person might not work as well for another person with a different background and experiences! Always seek individualized advice from admissions counselors at each schop where you plan to apply!

How Do I Choose a Topic?

The first step is choosing which topic you want to write about and why it is interesting and relevant to admissions officers at your target schops! Here are some questions you need to ask yourself:

    • Why do I want to attend business schop? Is there a specific aspect of business schop admissions I am targeting? For example, if I want to target MIT Sloan Schop of Management specifically (for example), then my most likely path would be applying directly through their online application portal (rather than through the Common Application or the Coalition Application. If I wanted to apply through MIT Sloan directly but didn't know what aspect of their schop they were most interested in my writing about (for example), then my most likely path would be using their "Choose Your
