Pipedrive is a sales pipeline management software that is cloud-based. It is used for marketing, sales, and accounting. The company was founded by the Finnish entrepreneur Ville Miettinen in 2008 and has been headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia since 2011.

Wave?

Wave was an email client created by Google and hosted on Google App Engine. It was released to the public on September 21, 2009, and was discontinued on April 30, 2012. Google announced its discontinuation with an announcement titled "An update on Wave" on its blog. Wave allowed users to create documents, or "waves," containing photos, videos, links, files, and text messages. Waves could be shared with people using the service or with other users' email addresses as well as being embedded within third-party websites. The service was designed to allow all users to communicate in real time and to allow users to see who was viewing their waves.

Integration of Pipedrive and Wave

Integration between Pipedrive and Wave was implemented with a plugin developed by the Pipedrive team. Its development and functionality are described in a blog post from Pipedrive's Technical Blog written by Martin Kralik called "Pipedrive + Wave = Awesome". The blog post describes the initial development on August 2, 2012 and the official launch about two months later on October the 4th. The blog post also describes some of the challenges faced while developing the plugin. The plugin was initially only available for Wave's "Open Sandbox" platform but later added to the "Enterprise" version of Wave on November 13, 2012. The integration allowed Salesforce CRM users to automatically create new contacts in Pipedrive whenever a contact was added to Wave. This allowed sales teams to use both apps simultaneously without having to copy and paste information between them. In addition to this, any changes made in Wave were reflected on Pipedrive including updates to existing contacts. The integration also allowed users to add notes to contacts in Pipedrive from within Wave. A user could also quickly invite co-workers mentioned in their Wave conversations to join the conversation in Pipedrive by clicking on a button that would automatically create an email invitation for them to join the conversation in Pipedrive.
