The purpose of this paper is to discuss the integration of Paddle and Square, a case study that has been in place for over 20 years. It will also discuss the benefits of this integration and how it has made life easier for the employees as well as the company.
The first part of the body will discuss what Paddle is and what Square is. The second part will discuss how these two are integrated together and the benefits of this integration.
Paddle was founded by two brothers named Harrison and Dempsey. The brothers grew up in a family business and they learned the trade from their father. This is where they gained their passion for working with wood. After much deliberation they decided to open up a small business where they could work with wood everyday. They started out in a small shed in their backyard where they would make wooden paddles for people to use for recreational activities such as canoeing and kayaking. They were able to sell these products at local sportsmen's shows and they were also able to sell them online. They were able to build some initial capital through these sales and they used this money to renovate their shed which now looked like a small factory. They hired a few more employees who would help them in manufacturing their wooden paddles. They were able to win over large companies such as Stantec because of their high quality products. The brothers knew that they would not be able to keep up with the growing demand of their paddles if they continued to manufacture them in one location so they decided to expand. They bought a large plot of land outside of town that had many unused buildings on it. They bought one of these buildings and renovated it into a proper factory where they could manufacture all kinds of wooden products. Now that they had a suitable space for manufacturing, they hired more people. As the number of employees increased, so did their workload. This is when they came across Square, a small software company that was based out of California, where a lot of other tech companies were located. They decided to move out there because they wanted to be closer to people who understood their business and would be able to provide them with the tops that would make their lives easier. This is how they came across Square, which would later change their lives forever.
Square was founded by Jack Dorsey, an MIT graduate who was already famous for having co-founded Twitter with Evan Williams. He was trying to find a way to accept payments from his customers and he came across this little device called Square. The device made it very easy for him to accept payments from his customers by simply plugging it into his phone or tablet and then swiping it through the device when someone wanted to pay him. This device made it very easy for Jack to accept payments from his customers because he no longer had to worry about writing receipts or thinking about how he cplected all his payments because all he had to do was swipe the card through the device and then he deposited all the payments into his bank account automatically. This allowed him to focus more on running his business than worrying about cplecting payments from customers which is what led him to start accepting payments through Square. He then decided to found Square because he realized that there were many other businesses like his that could benefit from a payment processor like Square so he launched Square and he also decided to launch Square Register which allowed businesses to accept credit card payments without having to have any devices plugged into mobile phones or tablets and this helped businesses save money on equipment costs. In addition, Square Register also gave businesses access to a merchant account which allowed them to accept credit cards without charging any fees or interest rates so this allowed businesses to save more money on interest rates and other fees associated with credit card processing.
When Paddle started using Square, one thing they noticed immediately was how easy it was to set up Square and integrate it into their business. Unlike most other payment processors, Square was very simple to set up and integrate into Paddle's business because there were no complicated manuals or guides that Paddle had to read before setting up Square and there were also no long waits invpved in setting up an account with Square either because Paddle was able to set up an account within minutes after signing up online. This allowed Paddle's employees to focus more on manufacturing their paddles rather than having to worry about setting up Square which is what resulted in better quality products from Paddle. In addition, Paddle was also able to save money on equipment costs because there were no devices needed in order for them to process payments from customers. Instead, Paddle saved money on equipment costs because all they had to purchase was a small piece of hardware that cost less than $10 so in the end, they still got better quality products from Paddle but they also saved money on equipment costs as well which resulted in an overall positive effect on their bottom line.
This integration between Paddle and Square has made life easier for both companies because it has allowed them to focus more on manufacturing high quality products rather than having to worry about accepting payments from customers which has resulted in higher customer satisfaction rates from both companies because now their customers can pay them easily without having to wait around or write down their credit card information. The integration between Paddle and Square has also helped both companies grow because now Paddle is able to sell their products online with ease and this has helped them grow internationally whereas before, this was not possible because they did not have a way of accepting payments from international customers so now Paddle can sell their products worldwide instead of just locally which is something that would not have been possible if things did not change back then so I believe that this is a good example of successful integration between two different companies in different industries because this integration has greatly benefited both companies over the years due to its high convenience level for both companies' customers as well as its simplicity in terms of setting up everything.
