Paddle is an independent platform for connecting with people. It has a vast network of users and offers a great deal of features.
Basin is an application built by the people of Paddle and it’s main function is to connect people with their interests. It can be used as a top to promote your business, as a way to discuss about your interests or as a place to find common grounds with someone. You can learn more about Basin here.
Paddle and Basin are integrated in many different ways. Both platforms share the same servers, database and codebase so they are basically the same app. There is no difference between them and users can use both of them without any problems. The only thing that makes them separate is the interface. Paddle has a dark design while Basin has a light design. This allows users to choose which one they like better. We will have the same advantages as if we were building two separate apps. Only with less work. If you want to know more about how these two apps are integrated here is our technical integration document here.
There are several benefits of having both apps as one. Here are some examples:
1- If one app gets banned from the App Store we can just change the name and push an update. No need to redo all the marketing stuff again.
2- We can do A/B testing of features on both apps. If a feature in one app performs better than another we can implement it to the other app without having to re-release them both in the store. If one app gets bad reviews we can easily push an update to improve it without having to re-release both (This happened recently in the Paddle app.
3- Even though each app has an unique design, both designs are very similar. So if you’re already familiar with one you’re not going to have any problem using the other one. Those two apps are basically the same just with different designs. So when you get used to using one you won’t have any problem using the other. Having the same codebase also helps developers build new features faster as they don’t have to start from scratch every time they make a new feature on each app. They can just add it into the existing codebase and push an update without having to republish the app itself.
Paddle and Basin are two applications that allow us to save time and money while still offering valuable features to our users. We will keep pushing out updates to both apps and improving them with more features in the future.
