Integration of OneNote and Zoho Connect

In the present business scenario, the companies have to face a lot of challenges. With the increase in competition and globalization, it is very important for the companies to develop new and efficient ways to manage their operations. One of the key factors of a successful company is its ability to handle all the critical information in an efficient manner. The companies have to keep on updating their business processes by integrating various software applications to provide their customers with a good service.

OneNote is a popular app that helps students and employees to organize their notes in an easy manner. Although it is not yet available for Linux users, the Linux users can still use OneNote using the Wine software platform. Zoho Connect is a cloud-based application of Zoho Corporation that provides the users with various features in a single location. It helps the users to manage, track, and integrate different aspects of their business from one place. The best thing about Zoho Connect is that it can be accessed from anywhere, whether the user is on a desktop computer or on a mobile device.

OneNote and Zoho Connect integration is a feature that is currently available only for Windows users. But despite this limitation, most of the Linux users found a way to use OneNote. The OneNote version for Linux is called OnenoteQt and it runs using Wine. Despite being a bit slow, it is quite usable. To install it, you need to download the files from here, here and here after which you can fplow this tutorial to get it running. After installing OneNoteQt you can easily create notes and access them using your web browser. But this is not enough as it is possible to integrate OneNote into Zoho Connect. This will allow you to use all the features of OneNote with other tops that are part of Zoho Connect.

There are two things that need to be done to integrate OneNote with Zoho Connect:

First, you need to install OneNoteQt on your system using Wine software platform. After doing this, you need to install Zoho Connect on your system. You can do this by fplowing these steps:

  • Click here to visit Zoho Connect and then click on “Sign Up” button
  • Click on “Start Free Trial” button
  • Click on “I want free trial” button
  • Enter your email address and click on “Continue” button
  • You will receive an email at your given email address with your Zoho Connect username and password. Open the email and copy the username and password
  • Now go back to Zoho Connect login page and enter your credentials and then click on “Login” button
  • You will see the dashboard of Zoho Connect where you need to click on “Create New Account” button
  • Choose “Enterprise Account” option and then click on “Next” button. Now enter any name for your account and then click on “Next” button again
  • You will see a form where you need to enter three things. Address, Phone Number, and Email Address of your business/organization. After filling all these fields click on “Next” button again. You will see another form now where you have to choose your country from the drop-down menu and then enter your ZIP/Postal Code, City/City Name, State/State Name, Country/Country Name as well as your time zone in the required fields. Make sure that each field has exactly 3 characters. After filling these details click on “Add” button
  • Fill out all the required information in this form as well and then click on “Next” button again
  • Now you have to enter your Contact Person’s First Name, Last Name, Email Address, Job Title, Phone Number, and Company Name in order to finish registration process of creating an account for your organization/business. After entering all these details click on “Next” button again
  • You will see a confirmation page showing that your account was created successfully. Here you can either proceed to learn more about Zoho Connect features or close the browser window by clicking on “Close” button. If you want to learn more about Zoho Connect features, then click on “Learn More” button. Otherwise click on “Exit” button
  • Now go back to the dashboard of your account where you will see three tabs. Contacts, Documents and Projects. Click on “Documents” tab from where you can start adding documents into your account.
  • Now create a new contact in your account by clicking on “Add New Contact” button from the list of contacts. Then enter all the required information into given fields as shown below and then save it by clicking on “Save” button
  • Now create new project in your account by clicking on “Add New Project” button from the list of projects. Then enter all the required information into given fields as shown below and then save it by clicking on “Save” button
  • Now go back to Zoho Connect dashboard where you will see both contacts and projects that you have added. Now add new note into your account by clicking on “Add New Note” button from the list of notes as shown below:
  • Enter any note title that you want (it must contain only lower case letters), any note description (it must contain only lower case letters), date when you want this note to be active, time zone as well as note sharing settings (this setting lets you decide whether all or some people can see this note or not. After entering all these details click on “Save” button as shown below:
  • Now you will see the note that you have just created in your account as shown below:
