Microsoft Office 365 is a cloud-based productivity suite that includes the latest versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook (Microsoft Corporation, n.d.. It is available for free on Android and iOS devices (Microsoft Corporation, 2015. Microsoft Office 365 includes 1 TB of OneDrive storage, which is free of charge (Microsoft Corporation, 2015. This allows users to access their documents from any device. Google Photos is a free service that allows people to upload, store, search and share photos and videos (Google Inc., 2016. The service is available on Android and iOS devices as well as the web. Google Photos gives users unlimited storage for photos and videos up to 16 megapixels (Google Inc., 2016.

Integration of Office 365 and Google Photos

The integration of Office 365 and Google Photos allows users to edit documents in real time on their mobile phone by using the Word app, while images can be viewed directly in the Photos app or edited using the Google Photos app (Microsoft Corporation, 2015; Google Inc., 2016. This means they do not have to download their documents onto their phone before editing them, but can do so directly from the cloud. This saves time and data as users do not have to wait for their files to download or transfer large files between apps.

Thirdly, if a user ever wishes to switch providers from Office 365 to another application such as Google Docs or Apple Pages, all their documents will have to be transferred again from the original source to another application (Microsoft Corporation, n.d.. Whilst this may seem like an inconvenience, it is worth considering that if you are only using your online storage for documents, you can just as easily upload your documents to another source.

Integration of Office 365 and Google Photos provides many benefits for users. Users can create new projects more rapidly using the integration between the two applications and cplaboration becomes much easier as multiple people can work on the same document at the same time.
