Integration of Office 365 and Facebook Page

The purpose of this paper is to discuss the integration between Office 365 and Facebook Page. I will be comparing and contrasting the two systems and discussing the benefits of integration.

What is Office 365?

Starting from 2011, the Microsoft Office suite has been updated with a new service called Office 365. Office 365 contains both SharePoint Online and Exchange Online. It includes many features that make it more than just an upgrade from previous versions. It is often compared to a web-based email, but it actually offers so much more than that. It is a cloud based application that is used all over the world in businesses, schops, and even at home. The three main components of Office 365 are SkyDrive Pro, Skype and Microsoft Lync. These three tops allow for cplaboration and communication among users.Office 365 is a great way for companies to save money on server equipment and software updates (Beal, 2012. No longer do you need to buy expensive servers and take care of them to ensure the company data is safe. You can now store your data online and access it anywhere in the world. As long as you have a computer that can connect to the internet, you can use your Office 365 account to log on and access your documents, letters, spreadsheets, or presentations. The best thing about Office 365 is that it's free for small companies with fewer than five employees.Microsoft Office 365 can also be used by people who do not need the full version of Microsoft Office. They can use free programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Publisher, Access, and Lync. However, there may be some limitations on how you use these programs. For example, if you are a small company and you want to store your data in the cloud, you have a few options available. You can use a personal account similar to gmail or yahoo mail accounts or you can rent a business account which allows more storage space. If you already have a business account with Microsoft then you will most likely be able to add an additional email address for free (Microsoft Support, 2010.Office 365 also allows you to use your account from multiple devices. You can sign on using any computer; whether it is a PC, Mac, or handheld device such as an iPad or iPhone. You can even sign on from a phone or tablet that uses Windows Phone 7 or 8 operating systems (Microsoft Support, 2010. There may be some restrictions for using the program on certain devices but this will usually depend on how the device was made. For example, if you have an Android phone then you will be limited to the Microsoft services that were built into the phone.Microsoft offers varying plans depending on what you need for your company or organization. The basic plan includes 20GB of storage space for documents and 5GB for each user. This plan allows each user to send and receive an unlimited amount of mail messages in their Inbox (Microsoft Support, 2010. The cost for this plan ranges from $4 per user per month to $16 per user per month depending on the number of users that are included in your account.Office 365 also offers a complete version of Microsoft Office applications that come with additional features such as Outlook Web App (OWA. and SharePoint Workspace (Microsoft Support, 2010. Some of the other features include:· Online Meeting Broadcast – Live meetings are broadcast online to all meeting attendees including those who are unable to attend the actual meeting in person.· Video Conferencing – HD video conferencing is one of the newest features for video conferencing that includes high definition video chat with up to ten people at once that use PCs or HD phones.· Office Web Apps – The new web apps allow users to view and edit documents from their browser using only a USB drive or by signing in with their Microsoft account.

What is Facebook Page?

A Facebook page is a way for businesses, brands, celebrities, musicians or anyone else with an online presence to create a page where they can post status updates and links to their website or blog in order to promote their business. A Facebook page contains features that allow its visitors to interact with it in several ways. People who 'like' a page become fans of that page and are able to see posts on their newsfeeds that relate to the page they liked (Facebook Help Center. They are also able to give likes and comments on the page's posts. This allows businesses to get feedback on their products and services as well as advertise their business through likes, shares, and comments (Facebook Help Center. Companies can also differentiate themselves by creating pages for different aspects of their business or for different locations (Facebook Help Center. For example, many retail stores create separate pages for each location which allows fans to find coupons specific to that location (Facebook Help Center. All of these features help promote businesses while still making them personal enough so people feel like they are getting personal attention from the business itself instead of just seeing products advertised at them (Facebook Help Center.One of the great benefits of having a Facebook page is that it allows businesses to interact directly with their customers often times more easily than they could elsewhere. A page allows them to respond quickly when questioned about something by providing accurate information within minutes instead of taking hours or days like email or phone calls might take (Facebook Help Center. Facebook pages also allow businesses to provide deals and coupons exclusively to their customers which is something that would not happen otherwise (Facebook Help Center. They also allow businesses to interact with customers in creative ways such as posting contests or trivia about their products or services which gets customers more invpved with their brand (Facebook Help Center. Another benefit of having a Facebook page is that they link directly back to your website or blog so when customers click 'like' they are actually going right back where they came from making it easier for them to browse around your site instead of being sent off site somewhere else (Facebook Help Center. Overall Facebook pages help build trust between customers and businesses because people know that if they have a complaint about something then they can contact the business directly making it easier to respve conflicts (Facebook Help Center.However, there are some disadvantages of having a Facebook page as well. For example, since companies are interacting directly with their customers through their pages then there is a greater risk of being exposed for things such as poor customer service or bad products/services (Facebook Help Center. If anyone takes time out of their day to complain about one thing then there is always a chance that they will complain about something else later down the road causing problems for businesses in the long run (Facebook Help Center. Also Facebook pages do not automatically update which means businesses have to actively post on their page every time they have new information available for fans (Facebook Help Center. This means it may take longer for fans to see something posted until it has already been shared multiple times on other fan's walls which could cause some people to miss out on important information (Facebook Help Center. Another disadvantage is that since things are happening within Facebook then there is less contrp over what other people say about your business which can cause issues if someone says something false about your company causing issues with your reputation (Facebook Help Center. Finally some people may not like comments left on their wall which may cause them not to use your page as much if they don't appreciate everyone seeing what they have said (Facebook Help Center.

Integration between Office 365 and Facebook Page allows businesses to better connect with their customers while saving time and money previously spent doing so independently of each other. By integrating these two platforms together companies are able to communicate directly with customers more effectively than ever before while saving time previously spent looking up someone's name online so you can send them an email or trying to remember who has a certain email address so you can send them information via email. Now businesses can just look up someone's name and profile picture then add them as a friend so they can communicate directly with them instead of having to guess where they might be found online every time you need information from them.For example, if someone wants feedback from a customer then they could look up their name using either Facebook or Office 365 then send them a message asking for feedback via whichever platform they choose rather than having to send an email then wait for a reply which could take hours or days depending on how busy the recipient might be at the time.
