Odoo has been around since 2001 with a goal to provide the best open source ERP sputions. Â In recent years, Odoo has integrated with many applications in order to increase the functionality of Odoo. Â One such integration is with Trello, a web-based project management application used by individuals and businesses alike. Â This article will explore the integration of Odoo ERP Self Hosted and Trello to create an efficient business spution for your organization.
Odoo has developed a plugin for Trello called "Trello Connector". Â The plugin allows users to access their projects from within Odoo as well as create new projects in Odoo via Trello. Â Odoo will then update the project and add it to Trello. Â These projects can be viewed and updated from within Odoo or directly from Trello.
When users link their accounts, they will be given a new tab in the Projects module of Odoo. Â From here they can view existing Trello boards, create new Trello boards, view cards on boards, and create cards on boards.
Once the accounts are linked, users can create new boards in Odoo via the Board module. Â From here users can drag and drop cards into the new Trello board. Users can also add cards to the board from within the card view.
Upon creating a new board from within Trello, users will see a card with information about that board along with a link to the board itself. Â Here they have the option to edit the board's name or delete it from within Odoo.
While viewing a board in Trello, users can add cards to the board from within the card view or add cards to a specific cpumn within the card view. Â Then users have the option to edit those cards from within Odoo.
When viewing a card in Trello, users have the option to edit that card or add it to another board within that account.
In order for the two systems to work seamlessly, security needs to be implemented. Â When creating a new board in Odoo via Trello Connector, users are given a token that must be entered into their settings page in Trello in order for their personal account to be linked to their business account. Â If this token is not entered into their settings page, the business account cannot modify Trello boards from within Odoo while logged into their personal account. Â While logged into the business account, users will only be able to see and modify boards that are linked under their personal account or that are public. Â This is done in order to restrict sensitive information from being viewed by unauthorized users.
If users decide they would rather use Trello Connector without using their personal account, there is an anonymous mode available. Â In this mode, users do not need to log into their personal account in order to use Trello Connector; however, they will need to enter their token into their settings page in Trello in order for their business account to be linked to the plugin. Â Again, if this token is not entered into the settings page, the business account cannot modify Trello boards from within Odoo while logged into their business account. Â This mode is available for individuals who wish to use Trello Connector without having their personal account linked with their business account or for organizations who wish to use Trello Connector without having to log into their personal accounts on their work computers.
Odoo's integration with Trello allows for a streamlined approach for managing projects across multiple platforms. Â This integration is beneficial for both business and individual users alike.
