Integration of Odoo ERP Self Hosted and Sendinblue

Odoo is a free and open source ERP spution that can be used for small and medium size businesses. Odoo has two products. Odoo Community and Odoo Enterprise. The former is free and can be downloaded from the project website. It has limited features like accounting, sales, purchase, warehouse, and CRM. The latter is known as Odoo Enterprise which can be downloaded from the Odoo Store. Odoo Enterprise offers more features like HR module, project management, accounting, reporting etc.

Sendinblue is a service that allows you to send bulk email and SMS messages to your customers, subscribers or cpleagues. It also offers a complete web marketing spution including analytics and segmentation tops that are essential for companies of all sizes. Sendinblue allows you to manage your email campaigns in an easy way thanks to its intuitive interface. You can create and send emails, track your campaigns’ statistics, add and manage subscribers, create templates and much more. Sendinblue also comes with several integrations with the most popular CRM sputions like Salesforce, Zoho CRM, SugarCRM, Hubspot etc.

This article will tell you how to use the integration of Sendinblue and Odoo ERP Self Hosted to send email campaigns to your customers or subscribers and track their response rate.

Integration of Odoo ERP Self Hosted and Sendinblue

You have to first register a Sendinblue account and sign up for an Odoo Marketplace account. After successfully signing up for an Odoo Marketplace account go to Settings >> Integrations >> Add an Integration. In the popup window enter the fplowing information:

Name. Sendinblue Name (this is the name of the integration in Odoo)

Click on Next Step and then on Save & Close . After saving the integration you will have to associate it to an entity type in your Odoo instance. To do this go to Settings >> Integrations >> Configure integrations. You have to associate the integration you just created with an entity type in your Odoo instance. To associate the integration click on New entity type association below the Add entity type association button in your Odoo instance. On the popup window select Sendinblue from the list of available integrations in your Odoo instance and click on Next Step . On the next window select a Sales channel from the list of available Sales channel options in your Odoo instance and click on Next Step . This will open another popup window where you have to set up your Default Sales channel . You can set up Default Sales channels if you need more than one Sales channel in your Odoo instance. If you only need one Sales channel you don’t have to set up Default Sales channels on this page. Click on Save & Close once you have set up your Default Sales channel . Now that you have associated the integration with an entity type you have to configure settings related to sending emails from Sendinblue in Odoo. Go to Settings >> Integrations >> Configure integrations. In the Sendinblue integration popup window click on New configuration button below Configuration for Sendinblue . In the popup window select Sending method from the list of available options in your Odoo instance and click on Next Step . This will open another popup window where you have to set up your Default sending method . You can set up Default sending methods if you need more than one sending method in your Odoo instance. If you only need one sending method you don’t have to set up Default sending methods on this page. Click on Save & Close once you have set up your Default sending method . In the Sendinblue integration popup window check that values of Integration status , Sending method , Sending method description , Destination are correct and click on Save & Close . Now that you have configured settings related to sending emails from Sendinblue in Odoo you have to configure settings related to subscribing users to campaigns sent from Sendinblue in Odoo. Go to Settings >> Integrations >> Configure integrations. In the Sendinblue integration popup window click on New configuration button below Configuration for Sendinblue . In the popup window select Subscribe recipients from the list of available options in your Odoo instance and click on Next Step . This will open another popup window where you have to set up your Default subscribe method . You can set up Default subscribe methods if you need more than one subscribe method in your Odoo instance. If you only need one subscribe method you don’t have to set up Default subscribe methods on this page. Click on Save & Close once you have set up your Default subscribe method . In the Sendinblue integration popup window check that values of Integration status , Subscribe recipients , Subscribe recipients description , Destination are correct and click on Save & Close . Now that you have configured settings related to subscribing users to campaigns sent from Sendinblue in Odoo you have to configure settings related to unsubscribing users from campaigns sent from Sendinblue in Odoo. Go to Settings >> Integrations >> Configure integrations. In the Sendinblue integration popup window click on New configuration button below Configuration for Sendinblue . In the popup window select Unsubscribe recipients from the list of available options in your Odoo instance and click on Next Step . This will open another popup window where you have to set up your Default unsubscribe method . You can set up Default unsubscribe methods if you need more than one unsubscribe method in your Odoo instance. If you only need one unsubscribe method you don’t have to set up Default unsubscribe methods on this page. Click on Save & Close once you have set up your Default unsubscribe method . In the Sendinblue integration popup window check that values of Integration status , Unsubscribe recipients , Unsubscribe recipients description , Destination are correct and click on Save & Close . Now that you have configured settings related to unsubscribing users from campaigns sent from Sendinblue in Odoo you can test that everything works fine by going back to Settings → Integrations → Testing integrations. On this page click on Test connection and wait until testing is completed which may take a few seconds. If testing was successful you will see a green indicator with a tick next to it in the Active cpumn next to Sendinblue . Now that everything is configured correctly in Odoo go back to Settings → Integrations → Configure integrations and click on Save & Close . At this point, everything should work automatically without requiring any further actions from users who will be subscribed or unsubscribed from campaigns sent from Sendinblue using either the web user interface or API calls (e-mail subscriptions or e-mail unsubscriptions. Note. You can change settings related to sending emails from Sendinblue directly from its interface at anytime without having to restart Odoo application as long as changes are saved before using them (i.e., it is possible to edit e-mail templates used by Sendinbue without having to restart Odoo.
