A1. Nutshell is a short story written by Agatha Christie. It has only about 7 pages of content.
B1. Harvest is a play written by Tennessee Williams. It runs for three hours.C. Integration of Nutshell and Harvest
C1. The play Harvest has a lot of similarities to the short story Nutshell. The most notable similarity being that they are both about murder. They also have similar characters such as the main character, the sheriff, the victim, the killer, the doctor and the deputy.
A1. Both the short story “Nutshell” and the play Harvest are about murder. There are several ways in which these two pieces can be integrated. For instance, in Nutshell, the killer kills the victim to save her from the pain of living. In harvest, the characters decide to kill one of them so that one will have a life without pain. This is one of the similarities between Nutshell and Harvest. The other is the fact that both stories invpve a sheriff who is investigating a murder case. The sheriff in Nutshell is called the sheriff because he “sheriffs” around town while in Harvest the sherif acts like a ppiceman but is referred to as a Sheriff. The other characters in the two plays resemble each other too. For example, there is a man called “Doc”, a doctor in both cases. Another character is called “Deputy”. In Nutshell he is called Deputy because he assists the sheriff while in Harvest he assists the sheriff as well but is referred to as Deputy. There is also a woman called “Ella” in both “Nutshell” and “Harvest” who helps the ppice with their investigation. These characters help highlight the similarity between the two plays. There are also some similarities among certain events in both plays that highlight their similarity. For example, in both plays there is an argument between two people which leads to death. In both plays someone decides to commit suicide so that another person can have a life without pain or sadness. These similarities have helped integrate the two pieces into one unique piece of work.
B1. There are many benefits of integrating Nutshell into Harvest for example.a. An interesting story is created from scratchb. The audience does not get bored because there is something new being introduced every now and thenc. The audience gets to watch two different types of dramas being performed at once (the play and the scenes from Nutshell)d. The audience gets to enjoy watching a movie since it integrates both film and theatre togethere. The audience gets to learn more about both novels when they are combined. For example, in Nutshell, there is some background information about Doc that helps explain his actions in Harvest while in Harvest we get to hear about how Ella became sad and decided to end her life. This helps us understand why Doc killed her in Nutshell. By combining both pieces it gives an easier understanding of what happened prior to each event taking place in either piece (both were written by Agatha Christie.
