Integration of Nutshell and Google CloudPrint

Imagine you are on your way home from work and realize you forgot to print the file that you needed for work. With Google CloudPrint, you can use your smartphone or tablet to have the file printed at a nearby printer. Google CloudPrint is a service that allows users to print documents from any of their devices. It also saves time by allowing users to print documents directly from their applications.

Nutshell is an application that integrates Google CloudPrint into an online workspace for educators. Teachers can create lesson plans and assignments and send them directly to the classroom printer. The teacher does not need to be in the classroom to print the documents.

Google Cloud Print was first introduced in 2009. Over the years it has become more popular with the implementation of mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. The program is available in both paid and free versions. The free version allows for five printers from one computer and up to ten pages per month. The paid version allows unlimited printing and an unlimited number of printers (Hedegard.

Google Cloud Print is compatible with all major printers including HP, Lexmark, Dell, Epson, Brother, Canon, and Samsung. Users can print from iPhone, iPad, Android, Chrome and Google Drive (Hedegard. There are two ways to set up Google Cloud Print on other devices:

Paper Print is used on Windows computers and Air Print is used on Apple computers. Both are free of charge.

Once the assignment has been created, teachers will have the option to print the assignment directly from Nutshell by selecting “Print” (Edugineer. When a user clicks on “Print” it will bring up a drop-down menu with options such as “Google Cloud Print” (Edugineer. Choosing this option will allow Google Cloud Print to print the document directly from Nutshell. If a teacher chooses not to print using Google Cloud Print then they can still print the assignment from Nutshell as long as the teacher has access to the computer it was saved on (Edugineer.

Nutshell Mobile can be downloaded onto a smartphone or tablet device as long as it runs on iOS or Android operating systems. Once the app is downloaded it will automatically sync with Nutshell so that teachers have immediate access to their class information (Nutshell Mobile.
