Amazon has made a name for itself in the e-commerce industry with its Amazon.com online retail platform. This website allows users to buy products from Amazon, rather than directly from individual sellers. Amazon also offers Amazon Web Services (AWS), which allows third parties to host their websites on Amazon’s servers. Amazon is constantly looking for new ways to expand its service offerings, and most recently, Amazon has created a marketplace that allows sellers to list their products on Amazon.com. The marketplace offers Amazon’s buyers a wide variety of products, which helps Amazon compete with other marketplaces like eBay and Etsy. However, Amazon’s marketplace creates competition for small businesses that already sell their products online on their own websites. One notable marketplace competitor is Notion, which offers free tops for online merchants to create their own online storefronts. The Notion marketplace competes directly with Amazon.

Notion was founded in 2015 by former Macromedia employees Kent Lindstrom and Ben Zientek. Notion’s goal is to provide small businesses with affordable tops to build an online store. The company is based in San Francisco, California. Although the company has only been around for three years, they have accumulated more than 100,000 registered merchants on the platform. Amazon is an American electronic commerce company that started out selling books online, but now sells everything from food to baby products to clothes to househpd items. Amazon has more than 70 million customers and generates over $100 billion in annual revenue. In addition to selling physical products, Amazon also sells digital products like Kindle eBooks and MP3s.
