Integration of Netlify and Zoho Writer

As a blogger, I often use Netlify to host my static website, but I never used it for writing blog posts (blog drafts. I tried to write my blog posts on Netlify’s site editor, but I was not satisfied with the experience.

The Zoho Writer is a free online word processor. It has some special features for writing long documents, such as automatically creating table of contents, highlights, and index for bookmarks.

This post introduces how to use Netlify to edit your blog draft synchronously.

  • Integration of Netlify and Zoho Writer
  • There are two ways to integrate Netlify with Zoho Writer:

    • A plugin for Zoho Writer
    • Integrate the two services by REST API.
    • A plugin for Zoho Writer

    This is the easiest way to use Netlify for editing your blog drafts. There is a Zoho Writer plugin for Netlify which you can install directly from the WordPress repository. You can find some details here. This plugin works well if you are using WP-Engine as your hosting platform. It does not seem to work on other popular hosting platforms.

    • Integrate the two services by REST API.

    Integrating the two services via REST API allows you to use any hosting platform you like. You can also choose any text editor you prefer to use. The integration uses Netlify’s webhook system. For more information, please check out this link.

    Using Netlify together with Zoho Writer is a great idea. If you are new to blogging, you will need to write multiple drafts before publishing your first article. Using Netlify to edit your drafts synchronously allows you to finish each draft faster. Using Zoho Writer to write your drafts makes writing easier and more efficient.
