Integration of Netlify and Pingdom

Netlify?

Netlify is a platform for deploying and hosting websites. It provides website hosting, in addition to continuous integration and delivery services, so that developers can focus on their code without worrying about managing servers or configuring tops like Apache or Nginx. Sites created with Netlify are hosted from GitHub, Bitbucket, GitLab, or privately managed source repositories. They are deployed through continuous integration and built with popular frameworks and platforms including Node.js, React, React Native, Vue.js, and PHP. The combination of these services allows developers to host and deploy applications from a single interface.

Pingdom?

Pingdom is a web performance monitoring service that provides website monitoring, alerting and reporting functionality. It tests the availability and performance of websites by sending HTTP requests to them at regular intervals. Pingdom was founded in 2005 by Mikael Almgren, Andre Hedman and Henrik Nystrom in Stockhpm, Sweden. On June 8th 2013 Pingdom completed its first round of funding with $1.5M USD from Northzone Ventures and Creandum. As of 2016, Pingdom has raised a total of $8.8M USD. Pingdom’s product is free for up to 20 websites.

Integration of Netlify and Pingdom

Pingdom’s new integration with Netlify makes it possible to monitor sites deployed using the Netlify platform directly from Pingdom’s service. After creating an account with Pingdom (if one already exists. you will then be able to add a new site to monitor by running a Pingdom test against a web address that is launched in your browser. The result will display in Pingdom’s chart. If you already have a test scheduled then you can run it against the newly added site by selecting the right test from the list of scheduled tests and running it in the same way as you would normally do by clicking the ‘Run test now’ button or pressing Ctrl-Enter on the keyboard. You can also view the results in real time as they come in by clicking on the Live tab.

To integrate with Netlify, go to https://app.pingdom.cometlify/. Click ‘Add a New Site’ then fplow the instructions provided in the pop-up window. You will need your Netlify token (found on your site settings page), which you can copy into the text box and click ‘Verify & save’. In your Pingdom account you will then see your newly added site under the ‘Monitoring’ section. From here you can run tests against it, create alerts for it, or remove it from your account if you wish to.

Benefits of Integration of Netlify and Pingdom

Benefits of this integration include being able to monitor sites hosted using Netlify from within your Pingdom account without having to install any additional plugins or set up any custom testing rules. This should make it easier to keep track of what sites are doing when you are not there yourself to do so manually. The fact that you can run tests on your sites directly from your Pingdom account means you can more easily run performance tests against your sites while other tests are running automatically at certain times of day or night. Alerts can be created for specific sites based on various criteria that you select such as site downtime or any other activities that could impact its performance negatively and require you to take action as a result. In addition, you can choose how often to receive alerts such as daily or weekly so that you don’t get overwhelmed by too many being sent at once.

The integration of Netlify with Pingdom provides website owners with an easy way to monitor their sites from within their Pingdom account to ensure that they are online and performing as expected at all times without having to manually check them regularly each day to see if they are down or not performing as well as they should be. In addition, those who use Netlify as a platform for building their sites can also benefit from being able to monitor their sites directly from within their own accounts on Pingdom rather than having to do so manually every time they want to check to see if everything is working properly or not.

The process to integrate Netlify and Pingdom may seem complicated and intimidating. This is why Appy Pie Connect has come up with a simple, affordable, and quick spution to help you automate your workflows. Click on the button below to begin.
