Integration of MySQL and shippit

– MySQL is a Structured Query Language (SQL. database management system.

– It is the world’s most popular Open source relational database management system.

– Shippit is a web-based shipping software that allows users to receive quotes from multiple carriers, create shipping labels and track shipments.

Integration of MySQL and shippit

– Integrating MySQL and shippit offers numerous benefits. In this section, I will explain some of the benefits.

  • Shippit web-based shipping software can store the inventory of products in MySQL, which facilitates the product search on its web interface and helps customers to select the right product. Users are able to search on the web interface of Shippit for their desired product by entering keywords or product codes, and the software returns the list of products available in the inventory. The further users can choose the correct product, after viewing its details such as price and shipping options, and after adding it to shopping cart, they can proceed to checkout process.
  • Shippit can cache data from MySQL, therefore, if a user visits its website again for the same product, Shippit retrieves the data from the cache rather than performing a new query on MySQL database server. This stores the query results in memory and then presents them to the user. This feature saves time and improves performance.
  • Shippit offers multi-shipping features wherein users can create multiple shipments with different products in each shipment at once. The software automatically creates pages for each shipment with information such as tracking numbers, package tracking information, return address and so on for each shipment. Users are able to add new items to existing shipments or to create new shipments for new items. With this feature, users can quickly manage their orders on Shippit.com without having to visit the USPS website one by one in order to check status of their packages.
  • Shippit offers Fulfillment service wherein users can create shipping labels for their orders using their own printers. Shippit enables users to print labels using thermal label printers by creating a PDF file with shipping label based on their orders generated from Shippit’s system. Then users can print these files with any thermal printer and use them when shipping their products. This feature helps save time and money of users by avoiding long queues at post offices and paying postage rates of USPS or other carriers directly from their own offices or from home using thermal label printers instead of having to go to post office or carrier’s office and pay postage rates there.
  • Shippit also provides integration with other third-party software providers such as UPS, FedEx and Stamps.com, which enables customers to receive quotes from these carriers as well as USPS up front before even placing an order for shipping their products with USPS. Therefore, customers can choose which carrier they want to ship with based on their prices and delivery speed. Customers are also able to receive accurate quotes for USPS services including First Class Mail®, Priority Mail® and Express Mail® without waiting for 24 hours as required by USPS websites. This feature helps save time of users by reducing order processing time up front and by facilitating comparison shopping between various carriers as well as USPS services.
