Integration of MongoDB Realm and Patreon

In this article, I will introduce two services. MongoDB Realm and Patreon. I will describe how they are different from each other. Then I’ll describe how they can be integrated with each other. Finally, I’ll provide some benefits of the integration of these two services.

MongoDB Realm is an online service for storing data. It is a cloud based database and it is very simple to use. It supports all major programming languages like Ruby, PHP, Java, etc.

We can use MongoDB Realm to create our own database like structure to store data. It is highly scalable and provides us access to a replica set for high availability. The replica set keeps copies of all data in real time so that we can get quick access to any needed information.

Let’s assume we have a web application which uses MongoDB Realm to store the details of its users. Now, the application has a lot of users and most of them are from the U.S. so we want to keep a record of the cities where most of them are living. We can do this by storing the city name in the country field. This way, whenever we want to query the details of any user we will know what city he/she is living in.

Now let’s assume we want to keep a record of the total amount money that users have donated to our company as well as their names and other details. We can do this by storing the user’s name and other details in another cplection in MongoDB Realm. This way, we don’t have to store all the payment details in one cplection because this will make it difficult to query in future when we need to retrieve details of only those users who have made donations recently or even those who have not made any donation yet.

Patreon is an online service which helps creators in getting paid by their fans and fplowers. It offers several subscription models for creators to get paid based on their number of subscribers and how much they are willing to pay per month or per creation. Patreon also allows creators to publish content on Patreon without using Patreon software or website because they provide an API that developers can use to build custom integrations with Patreon for their own purposes. So, let’s say that we have a YouTube channel. We can easily integrate Patreon with YouTube by creating a Patreon account and then using Patreon API to create another account on Patreon based on our YouTube channel name and other details. This way, our fans will be able to subscribe directly on our YouTube channel using Patreon rather than having to subscribe on Patreon separately just to support us there.

In this article, I have discussed about two services. MongoDB Realm and Patreon. I have described how they are different from each other and how they can be integrated with each other for better functionality and usability. Finally, I have provided some benefits of integrating these two services with each other.
