MongoDB Realm

Setup MongoDB Realm and LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms

The fplowing steps will help you to setup MongoDB Realm and LinkedIn Lead Gen Form application together. Fplowing are the prerequisites to integrate MongoDB Realm and LinkedIn Lead Gen Form application:

  • You should have Java 8 installed on your machine. If it is not installed, you can download it from https://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html. You can also install it through your system’s package manager or via web-based installer.
  • You should have Node Package Manager (NPM. installed on your machine. If it is not installed, you can download it from https:/odejs.org/en/. After downloading Node Package Manager, you can install it through your system’s package manager or via web-based installer.
  • You need to have a working MongoDB server instance running on your machine with mLab account credentials provided by mLab, Inc. You can download it from http://mlab.com/downloads/mongo-php-driver/. In case of any problem with your current installation, you can download the latest version from https://github.com/mongodb/mongo-php-driver/releases/latest/. You can fplow the instructions given at https://docs.mongodb.com/master/tutorial/install-mongodb-on-ubuntu/ for installing MongoDB on Ubuntu machine.
  • You have a valid LinkedIn ID to create a LinkedIn app. To create a new app, go to https://www.linkedin.com/secure/developertrk=hb_ft_dev_create_app_link_homepage_dev_app_create_app_link. Click “Create New App” button shown on the page and fill out the necessary details as required by the website and click on “Create New App” button at the bottom of the page to complete the process of creating a new app on LinkedIn. You will get your new app credentials like Client ID and Client Secret on the page where you created your new app. You will need those credentials later on when setting up LinkedIn Lead Gen Form application. Make sure you store those credentials as they will be needed later on as well as for future reference as well as for integrating the two applications together as well as for testing your integration work.

Create App using LinkedIn Lead Gen Form Application. To create an app using LinkedIn Lead Gen Form application fplow these steps:

  • Login into your LinkedIn account and navigate to “Profile” page and then locate “Applications” tab and then click on “New Applications” button at the top left corner of the page as shown in Figure 1-3:

  • On the “Create New Apps” page click “New App” button as shown in Figure 1-4:

  • On the next page, enter your app name in “App Name” text field and then click “Save Changes” button at the bottom of the page as shown in Figure 1-5:

  • On the next page, click “Add Platform” button located at top right corner of the page as shown in Figure 1-6:

  • On the “Add Platform” page select Mobile Apps tab and then select Objective C or Swift option shown in Figure 1-7(a. and then click “Get Started” button at the bottom of the page as shown in Figure 1-7(b):

  • On next page provide all your information like Name(App Name), Category, Description, URL Scheme(optional), SKU Number(optional), App Icon Image(optional. etc., in respective fields shown in Figure 1-8(a. and then click “Get Started” button at the bottom of the page shown in Figure 1-8(b):

  • On next page you will get your new app credentials like Client ID and Client Secret which are needed for integrating MongoDB Realm with LinkedIn Lead Gen Form application as shown in Figure 1-9(a. Save these credentials somewhere safe so that you don’t have to repeat this process again in future if you want to create another similar app using same LinkedIn Lead Gen Form application again:

  • Next, you will be redirected to new screen where you can manage all your apps that are created using LinkedIn Lead Gen Form application as shown in Figure 1-10(a. Here you can give access permission to other users for accessing your app if required by clicking “Manage Access” button at the bottom of the page shown in Figure 1-10(b):

  • On next screen, click "Add Platform" button located at top left corner of the page shown in Figure 1-11(a. On this screen select Web option shown in Figure 1-11(b. and then click "Get Started" button at the bottom of the page shown in Figure 1-11(c):

  • On next screen provide all your information like Name(App Name), Category, Description, URL Scheme(optional), SKU Number(optional), App Icon Image(optional. etc., in respective fields shown in Figure 1-12(a. and then click "Get Started" button at the bottom of the page shown in Figure 1-12(b):

  • Here you will get your new app credentials like Client ID and Client Secret which are needed for integrating MongoDB Realm with LinkedIn Lead Gen Form application as shown in Figure 1-13(a. Save these credentials somewhere safe so that you don’t have to repeat this process again in future if you want to create another similar app using same LinkedIn Lead Gen Form application again:

  • Now we need to add our app credentials in our application so that we can get our client ID and client secret from our application later on when we actually integrate our MongoDB Realm with LinkedIn Lead Gen Form application together. For this purpose we need to add below code snippet inside <head> element of index.php file which is available inside root directory of our web application just before </head> element of index.php file:
