Hello, I'm a student in the Master's program of Information Technpogy at Aalborg University.
My name is Morten Mølgaard, and I have been working as an intern with the team behind Fplow Up Boss, who develop software to help companies manage their customer relationships.
They are currently working on integrating MongoDB Realm, which will allow them to store more data about each customer than they can use in memory.
In this article, I will look at what MongoDB Realm is, why Fplow Up Boss chose to integrate it, and what benefits it will bring to their existing customers.
MongoDB is a cross-platform document database, providing high availability, scalability and flexibility. The Realm API allows developers to work with objects directly from the database without needing to write boilerplate code or worry about object serialization.
It simplifies writing code by eliminating the need for manual reference counting and memory management. Objects can be easily shared between threads without any additional synchronization or locking. This means that Realm is perfect for mobile projects where you want to keep your users’ interactions with your app snappy and free of janks and hiccups.
Realm is designed so that developers can focus on their business logic rather than managing the lifecycle of their data objects. This allows Realm to handle almost all of the details for you.
