In this article, I will introduce Miro and moonclerk, then I will discuss how to integrate them. Integration of Miro and moonclerk can be a very important step to improve the usability of Miro.

Miro is a free, cross-platform application that plays Internet radio, streams videos from major news services, plays video podcasts, and provides a platform for streaming your media files from your computer. It is a free, open source project released under the GNU Public License.

Miro also provides a web browser plugin that add support for viewing video from sites such as Google Video, YouTube, Revver, MetaCafe, Revision3 and others. With just a few clicks you can browse the web and find videos, and then play them directly in miro's new interface. You can either watch them in-browser or use miro's new integrated video player to view them full screen on your computer.

The new interface handles all video formats and includes new features such as video ratings and commenting. By default this plugin downloads MP4, but you can also download the Ogg Theora format (which is more compatible with Linux.

Moonclerk is a cross-platform standalone file manager written in Python using wxPython. It supports multiple platforms including Windows, Mac OS X and Linux (32-bit and 64-bit. It can be used on Windows and Linux/Mac OS X as a standalone app. Moonclerk also runs well on pder hardware and can be used with slower computers.

Moonclerk is based on Google Caja and uses the same plugin system. Moonclerk uses the Python plugin API to add many extra features such as an on-the-fly thumbnail generator for local images, instant previews for local videos and add-ons such as the Midnight Commander. Moonclerk supports drag and drop, copy and paste, running applications on right click and more.
