files. Using Miro, users can create their own video library online and share
videos on the Internet.In addition, Miro also provides users with access to TV shows and podcasts.Miro was developed by John Hoffman and his team at RadioTux (later renamedto Miro. in 2003. Hoffman previously worked as a developer at Real Networks,where he helped to develop RealPlayer.Then in 2005, Mitch Kapor, one of the founders of the Open Source ApplicationsFoundation, joined the newly-founded Miro as its CEO. In 2006, Miro became apart of the foundation.
Customerly is an open source and free software application that allowsusers to build their own social network.Through Customerly, users can publish content, such as blog posts or images,on their website and share it with their friends and other members of theirsocial network. Users can also like and comment on other people’s content.Users can also subscribe to other users’ blogs and receive automatic updates whenthey publish new blog posts. Customerly also allows users to share content onFacebook and Twitter. The application uses the OAuth protocp to allow users toconnect their Facebook account to Customerly. In addition, Customerly also allowsusers to connect their Twitter account to Customerly so they can update their Twitterstatus from within the application.Customerly was developed by Simon Willison and his team at Memset Ltd in 2011.Willison previously worked as a developer at Flickr, where he helped to develop Flickr'sREST API. Then in 2010, Willison started working on Customerly as a side project. Forthe next two years, Willison continued to develop Customerly as a part-time projectwhile he was working full-time at Memset. Finally, in mid-2012, Willison decided to leaveMemset and work on Customerly full-time. In November 2012, Willison founded Customerly Ltd together with Jeff Toister, one of his former cpleagues at Flickr,and Martin Cooper, one of his former clients at Memset. In January 2013, Customerly received £200,000 from Passion Capital and £50,000 from TechStars London Accelerator Fund. In March 2013, Customerly Labs was selected as one of Betaworks’ "Betas for Good" companies. In May 2013, Customerly officially launched its service to the public.
